I think SOME politicians are throwing it aside because they don't want to face up to the responsibility of addressing the problem preferring instead to let someone else deal with the consequences. Basically they're taking the easy way out and running away from the problem.

It's also worth remembering that very few politicians are throwing aside global warming. Pick a country other than the US and the chances are that the politicians from all parties are united in their stance against global warming. Here in the UK we have three main political parties and perhaps 20 smaller ones, every one of them acknowledges the threat of global warming and has placed global warming on their aggendas.

about "politics", I assume you mean politics of the ol' US of A.
WE as Americans, are becoming more assaulted by "Christianity", seen thru the eyes of Adam Smith the great capitalist mind. And interpreted by the mind of "compassionate conservatives", like W and Newt Gingrich. The world will end sometime soon at an unknown time,so pray for the soul of Billy Graham's wife. In doing so, you will save your own soul.
Myself, I thought the movie "Inherit the Wind" was a great statement.

Some politicians don't throw it aside.

"Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives Tuesday to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"

Last I heard, he's not a Communist or a sheep.

They are not throwing it aside. Their going to use it to controll your life. Just look at Denver. It's almost like a form of communism. Some people that support this global warming stuff are communist and others are sheep.

I think you will find before all is said and done by the 2012 presidential race it will be the "hot button" issue.
Our politicians have all be foresaken it for this go around (big mistake).
By 2012 though it will be so in their face that they won't be able to see around it. The next president will have the consequences show up on their watch and it won't be pretty.

Thanks

It's outrageous that politicians aren't addressing global warming.I mean 100,000,000+ peoples lives are at stake according to inconvenient truth the least you could do is have tougher millage standards
