Perhaps it's our expectations of other humans that frustrates, angers, saddens, annoys and stresses us, rather than the humans themselves or their behavior

Hell is an imaginary place that does not exist in reality. No one will go there because no one CAN go there - because it doesn't EXIST. The idea of hell is used to get people to behave a certain way. You should live your life in the right way, because its the right way, not because you will recieve some reward or be punished in some way. There is no such place as hell. Period.

This is what J P Satre said in his play "The Flies".... "Hell is other people"
He would say that wouldn't he, he screwed other people around rather badly. This is the thing about great philosophers, their interpersonal behavior leaves a great deal to be desired.

Hell, is definitely other humans.

Just give me a deserted sandy-beached island, an ice-cool drink and some gentle music and i don't think i'd miss humans at all.

No.
Hell is man's grave.
It is closely associated with death.
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.

Hades is Greek for Hell.

People can be careless. Much of the meanness is unintended. Water off a ducks back is the way to handle those who give you some difficulty.
