we dont act like we are dating, so im gonna leave it up to you. i really like you a lot, so we can eigher work this out,or break up.

he said:
we should break up. we are both vey busy people, and we might not see eachother over the summer. we can still be friends right??

i said yea definitely...

but now, when all of his friends ask what happened, he says to them:

well, she started the conversation, and i ended it.

and now all the guys are giving high fives to him and stuff... hes definitely not a jerk, so i dont know how to handle this!!!

thats just him tryin to look cool. He'll tell his friends oh yea i got rid of her or something stupid when you really dumped him. If i were you i wouldnt even worry about it , if you see the people he told maybe casually bring it up, set the record straigh, if not , who cares?

Hun he is a jerk because he's making you sound like the fool in the whole thing. You don't need a friend like that. Break free and explore other avenues for making friends.

Look, you are obviously very young...young enough to still worry about what people think of you. Just forget it...think of how much worse it would be if you really loved him....right now you would be heart-broken and crying and very hurt. You didn't take a bullet so leave the rest alone.

If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and sounds like a duck .. its a duck!

Well ok maybe not so straight forward but he is certainly ACTING like a jerk even if he isnt one 24x7.

Men have this need to 'not be dumped' by women so I guess he is probably building himself up in front of his friends at your expense. Either way he has shown an unpleasant side to himself so I guess you can at least be grateful that you are not with him and move on to a man who does deserve you ;)

this happens to me sumtimes as well, im a guy and sumtime im mad of my gf cuz shes spending more time on friend and studying ( or work)
so he could be thinking that you dont value the relationship as much as he dus and feels hurt. if it is the case, i dont think hes a jerk at all. he just feels sad and insecure about the his position in ur mind, about how much you cares for him.
why dont you try to talk to him one more time, talking is the best way in these cases.
hope this help, good luck :D

It sounds like he wanted out of the relationship for a while and he's been talking to his friends about it. But that doesn't mean he's a jerk.

He really is a jerk girl! He was just waiting for you to say it or you may just have beaten him to it when you opened that conversation and he was only too glad to take you up on your proposition to break-up.
