It was around 11:50pm on a very empty intersection with red light camera enforcement in Los Angeles California.
I was traveling at a slow speed but just for some strange reason I did not catch the red light and by the time I braked to a stop, my front tires were a little past the second of the two lines. There was a small delay and then I saw one flash. I quickly reversed my car and did not see a second flash unless I missed it. I'm pretty sure it got a photo of my face and I have license plates in the front as well. Do you think I will be receiving a ticket? Technically I did not cross the intersection to be endangerment but i also know that they can use the fact that I could of endangered people on the sidewalk.... do you think because it was such an empty intersection it would increase the chances of it being tossed out?

I know in california even if they have your face but your not the registered car owner, they can't technically fine you... if i'm insured but not the owner of the car, will i still get fined?
i don't think i'll be able to prove i was turning cause i was in the lane going straight?

Obviously, because you stopped prior to going through the intersection...you did not run a red light therefore there is no ticket for that offense.
However, if I remember many centuries ago when I obtained my first drivers license in California, they as most states require that you stop behind the line. Failure to do so COULD be cited.
Most jurisdictions have strict compliance policies concerning how a ticket can be issued when a vehicle goes through a camera monitored intersection. As such, it is normally required that a clear photograph of the driver and vehicle registration be obtained prior to issuance of a summons.
As for the "stealth" paints and registration covers...they are legal to sell, however, most states, including my own jurisdiction prohibit their use while on a public roadway. Getting caught with "stealth" devices can create more problems that just running a red light.
Best wishes.

Sounds like a technical violation, as you were supposed to stop before the first line, not after the second. Backing up didn't help any--you can't unring the bell.
You might not receive a ticket at all. The camera is probably triggered by the light cycle, not by you, and they are looking for someone actually fully in the intersection. But if you do, I think you are on the right track to argue that you did come to a stop before entering the intersection and that there was no one in the crosswalk.

If you fail to come to a complete stop on a red light prior to "entering the intersection (passing the crosswalk) then you have indeed "run" the red light...the law does not require you to completely travel "through" the intersection...only a portion of it...suck it up...see the judge...and truthfully explain it..!! In regards to the ticket itself, it will be mailed to the registered "owner" of the vehicle, who in turn, will contact you, and the court, should the need arise..!!

Interesting, you happen to remember the specific incident? It must have been almost 30 days ago, yet you remember. I'm guessing you did do it. And if there's a picture, then you did. They don't send pictures of people not crossing the line. You're dead in the water. Also, you may want to consider going to school and learning how to write past the first grade. Nothing more annoying than illiterate people coming in here asking for help with the writing skills of a drunk monkey. Learn what the caps button is used for on your keyboard.

You have no case. Once your tires pass the line you are guilty. Paying attention when you are driving helps even late at night.

for the future use a spray that is out in the market for this reason, that once a high flash is made by the camera the sprayed on material will make it invisible on the photo well more like not able to read your plate number I forgot what its called but It does work just google it and you most def will find it
