So I have this puppy that I have found near a trash bin, and I'm not sure what breed he is, and he have fleas!!! Though I already solved this problem, I have a new one; how do I make his hair grow back its already 1 1/2 months since I rescued him but he is still bald underneath and also his legs, and his head his fur is very thin and only a handful near his back, plus he got worms, I need a quick homemade solution because I can't take him to the vet, coz he is unregistered non of my neighbors don't even know he exists, and pitbulls are banned at my state and City(Denver, Colorado), so I fear that he might be a pitbull and get euthanized, Bottomline: I need a home made remedy to make his hair grow back and to treat the worms. I really like this dog and I wanna keep him

Hair loss could be from mange, a very itchy and painful skin irritation that can only be cured by a vet. Same with worms.

If you could post a picture of him, I could probably be able to tell you what breed he is.

If he is a Pit Bull, you could always take him to a vet in a different county, but to be honest with you it's probably no a good idea to keep him if he's a Pit. Those stupid bans kill so many great dogs and puppies and there's no way you can shield him from the world forever. Someone will eventually see him and they might report you. Then, after becoming even more attached to him, he'll be taken away.

Do you have a friend in another city that could take him? If no, take him to the SPCA in another city that doesn't have a ban on any breeds.

Good luck, and try to post a picture.

Please take your pup to the vet. There are quite a few low cost vet programs out there if you need help with the cost. Plus, if you don't know if it's a pit or not, then just tell them it's a "mixed" breed. Your pup may be suffering from either sarcoptic mange, which is very treatable, or demodectic mange, which is also treatable. The hair loss needs to be addressed as soon as possible because he may wind up with secondary skin infections. This is a potentially life-threatening problem. So are the worms! Worms feed on the puppy and can cause them to become anemic. Again, a vet can cure these problems very easily. Vaccinations are really important too. Especially for rabies and distemper. Rabies is always fatal and distemper is almost always fatal.
If you truly care about this puppy, take the chance, take it to a vet. You might be surprised how well it goes!

This is a bit young to be away from the mother, although it sounds like the puppy was in a bad situation. A dog is likely to have fleas and worms if it is around and available to contract fleas and worms. This has to do with the animals it is around and its environment and less to do with if it is indoor or outdoors. The puppy needs an exam by a veterinarian to see if it is healthy. The only real way to see if it has worms is to do a fecal exam which can be done at the time of the exam. Bring a fresh (less than 12 hours old and preferably refrigerated if it is not immediately fresh) sample with you to your appointment. You can also get flea prevention at this time. If your puppy is too little for topical flea prevention, your veterinarian can give an oral dose of a 1 time flea killing medication called capstar. You should also set up a schedule to get your puppy vaccinated. This is very important. You should not let the toddler play with him until he has been checked for worms. If he has worms, and your toddler gets them on his or her hand and then touches his or her eyes or mouth, the child can contract the worms this way! Many internal parasites that puppies can have are in fact zoonotic.

You can treat worms with a product from a feed store or from online. Just make sure it has pyrantel in the ingredient list. Most of those OTC things you spend so much for don't kill hook worms. Get the cheap dewormer from a farm supply store with pyrantel in in.

If the hair was a flea problem it will grow back on its own. If not, he might have mange, which would make the whole situation worse. One type of mange is nearly impossible to cure. Try lice shampoo and see if it helps.

Don't get caught with a banned dog. In some states that is a felony.

there is no way to tell what breed he is there is NO test to prove or disprove he is a pit bull or A Pitt mix.
If he has that kind of hair loss he might have a skin infection caused by the fleas. what the vet gives for worms is the best the other stuff you need to do on a regular basis and not very good.
he need shots and by law have rabies at age 4 months or older.
You take in you are responsible for him and it is your responsible to get him the vet care needed or it's against the law not to and is a cruelty case which could end you with large fines and time in jail.
So no excuse take to the vets.

to ANSWER your question and not give you advice against specifically what you asked to get around .. i hate it when people do that.. go to a local farm/pet supply store and have an associate show you to the de-wormers. It's a small bottle of liquid sometimes sold in a box that you can use a syringe (with NO needle of course!!) to give the specific amout to your dog, based on weight, which should all be in the instructions on the box of the de-wormer. The brand of de-wormer I use is Happy Jack, it's about $14 for one bottle. that will be enough for several treatments for one dog. The website has a retail locater, and lots of other helpful information: http://www.happyjackinc.com I'm sure you know that the vet is the best thing to do, i know that, but i can't afford to take all 4 of my dogs to the vet. i do their shots and worm treatments regularly and they are just fine. about his hair loss, make sure you are giving him the best food you can afford. if you can buy purina one, that's the one that's given me the best results. good luck!

Sorry, there is no home remedy for worms. He needs to go to the vet to get proper care. The hair loss is not normal. He could have sarcoptic mange. Vets don't care about the breed. They are supposed to care for sick pets. He also needs to be vaccinated.

he really needs to go to the vet and get checked out and get meds from the vet. just because you fear he is a pit doesn't mean you can't take him to the vet!! what if he broke his leg or had a serious medical condition?! would you deny him medical attention then?!
