treat it as though it were beef and cook it according to it,s cut.
if it,s a roast I dredge it in flour and spices (thyme and sage are good) and brown on all sides.put in a deep baking pot or slow cooker,i like to use beef broth with a cup of deep red wine (like a Merlot) put enough liquid to half cover the roast.and then i slice an onion on top, some mushrooms, and a few crushed garlic cloves.then cook till your preferred temp.(same as beef)If you are a first time venison eater ,go with well done.
If it,s steak it,s best to tenderize and fry in oil after dredging in seasoned flour.
If you get really lucky she ,ll give him tender loin steak and that's the best. mmmmmyummy. but be careful when you tenderize it ,cause it,s delicate and very tender as it is .just flatten it out a bit and cook as afore mentioned.fry this quickly and not too done med,to med well,so as not to dry it out.
well, good luck I hope Ive helped a bit.
peace><>
hey i forgot the serve it with part! the steak goes really well with mashed potatoes and cream gravy.use the drippings from the pan, and serve with any type of veggie. we like carrots or corn on the cob.
