I have a 2000 Dodge ram 1500 with the 360 8 cyl gas engine. Is it safe for my engine if I run E85 (85% ethinol, 15% gasoline) through it?

sakotgrimes is WRONG and dangerously so. DO NOT PUT THAT IN YOUR TRUCK!! The ethanol is very corrosive. You must have MAJOR modifications to the fuel system, including a stainless steel tank, fuel lines, different fuel seals, different fuel injectors, computer and more. Alcohol and B-85 has around 25-30% less energy than regular fuel, and so the injectors must be able to increase the fuel delivery rate by that much..now that also means your fuel economy goes DOWN by that much as you need more volume of this Heavily Subsidised fuel to get the same power output..even for steady driving. Additionaly the computer must be able to advance the timing to take advantage of the higher octane rating of the B-85 due to a lower and slower burn rate.
DO NOT PUT THIS STUFF IN YOUR TANK!!!

Don't do it because 85% Ethanol is only good in trucks and cars with Flex Fuel sticker on the gas door or GM use yellow gas caps to tell which ones can use the grain ethanol. It can dammage your fuel injectors pick up all the moisture inside your gas tank and plug your fuel filter.

NO WAY would i use that junk in anything I've got. My uncle owns a small engine repair shop here in TN and this year he has had a ton of people bringing in mowers, string trimmers, chainsaws, and leaf blowers with blown engines due to people using because its cheaper. If it messes up mower engines I cant imagine how it would be worth it to put in auto.

WRONG! Your engine could care less WHAT it burns, so long as it's mixed properly with the air. Sorry I can't answer your question, but I do know that if it's not already ready for E85, modifications to the fuel delevery system alone (none to the engine itself) will do the trick.
