It was officially a stalemate. The war was fought from the most northern part of the Korean peninsula to the southern most point. The two sides have never signed a treaty or declared an armistice. A "cease fire" (which has been violated many times) is all that exists between the North and the South. South Korea could be considered a winner because of how they have developed into a modern country that is among the financial and industrial leaders in all of Asia. The North exists under a dictator who threatens Eastern Asia with nuclear weapons. Meanwhile his people are poor and starving and have been the real "losers".

South Korea would be considered a winner in the
"Korean War" technically speaking with the help of the USA and it's allies. North Korea is the loser because of the communist leader, Kim Jung "mentally ill" and his nuclear ambitions. This
conflict is still a cease fire and it's not over yet!!

No one won the Korean War. It resulted in a stalemate with the demilitarized zone. Both sides say that they won but the final result was a line drawn on the 38th parallel, neither side gained anything. Technically it's still an active military campaign (it was never declared a war) which is why we still have troops that patrol the border.

Neither side won the 'war', the US still has a large active minefield set in place to protect their own bases and South Korea from invading North Koreans.
I would imagine that North and South Korea will one day be just one Korea, just like North and South Vietnam is now called Vietnam.
Without the US presence in South Korea, the North would easily over run any South Korean opposition.

The South Korean people were the winners.
They don't have to live under the North Korean Dictatorship because of the Korean War.

There is no winner since there is still a truce/cease-fire on.
Actually, Korean "war" is not the accepted term in the United States...instead it's known as the "Korean Conflict", the name given to avoid the necessity of a declaration of war by the U.S. Congress in 1950.

There is no winner. The war is still going on, they are simply in a cease fire right now.

We have a lot more than just border patrols! I did a tour there, and it was a very tense situation. We were constantly on alert, and I got more combat training than I did in Basic. And there are many bases all over the country.

I guess the South won this time, because I managed to buy a Hyundai from there! Does anyone else like the Azera?

The US and South Korea successfully achiever our strategic objectives (the preservation of South Korea). The North Koreans failed to achieve their objectives (the conquest of South Korea).
Sounds like it should be pretty easy to decide who won.
