It would be a great way to keep in shape, but the constant pounding of going up and down is definitely horrible on your knees- especially for going up and down for any length of time. I highly reccomend switching to something with a lot less pounding such as running around a track, and perhaps saving the stair-climbing to the end of your run or perhaps once a week.

And by the way, I think some of your calculations are off, or your messed up in your data, because you're saying that you do 96 stairs a minute for 25 minutes? :) Most be a pro stair-climber.

Climbing stairs is a wonderful exercise. I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Keep it up.
