Just looked it up,
Structural changes of the elastic tissue assosiated with cholesterin deposition.

It is possible to develope a buildup of plaque on the inside walls of the aorta just as it is possible for this to happen
in the carotid arteries and coronary arteries. I suspect the
process is the same and these conditions are brought about
by the same risk factors.
