U can get mono when u are kissing a lot of people within a short period of time. U can also get it if u share eating untensils and drinking from the same glass. The symptoms of mono include painful swallowing, severe body aches etc. and it maybe confused with strep. A throat culture is usually required. There are no antibiotics for mono. The doctor will say to stay away from others cuz its contagious. They will also tell u to eat and drink with seperate untensils until u get better. Look it up to know more about it.

Mono is Extremely contagious. It is called the kissing disease because most people get it from saliva. You can get it from drinking or eating after someone, not just kissing.

EBV is transmitted through direct contact with virus-infected saliva. Intimate kissing or sharing drinking glasses are the most common routes of transmission. The majority of people with mono are most likely to transmit it just prior to feeling ill. This is called asymptomatic shedding and accounts for the majority of the disease's transmission.

Obviously from kissing someone who has mono. The virus is transmitted through saliva in mouth-to-mouth contact, but can probably be contracted through other close contact with someone who has it, or through objects used by an infected person.

Yuove answered your own question. It is transmitted via kissing. You can also contract it by sipping thru a straw from another persons drink...it is in the saliva. The other person's saliva sinks to the bottom of the can/glass/whatever, and when you sip thru the straw, you are actually sucking up the germ.
