To control diabetes, don't pay much attention to what U eat but to what U drink.
Diabetes is a condtion caused by water shortage in the body. Surprised? The brain gets 85% of its energy from water. This is the reason why the brain is immersed into water called the cerebrospinal fluid. When the brain runs out of water, its alternative energy source will be glucose/sugar. To get access to adequate amts of glucose, the brain shuts down the pancreas to prevent it from releasing insulin. Without insulin, other tissues won't have access to glucose and this causes elevated glucose levels in the bld. Since the brain's functions are very vital, adequate energy is always required.
So to revert the energy source of the brain back to its normal energy source, it is very vital that one hydrates adequately. How to do this? Dissolve 1/4 tsp of sea salt to 1 quart of water. Depending on weight, take this salted water as follows: Take 16-24 ounces upon waking up in the morning and also at bedtime, 8-16 ounces half hr before meals and also 2 and a half hrs after meals, replace urine with 8 ounces water. Salt holds water and helps the tissues retain water and be hydrated sufficiently.
Avoid coffee, tea, sodas, chocolates and alcoholic beverages. These are dehydrating substances and will dry U up more, making ur condition worse. Soda is also very acidic. It has ph between 2.5 to 2.8. U need 32 glasses of highly alkalinized water to neutralize a glass of soada. When the body gets acidified, the pancreas gets damaged. It is the most alkaline organ. When damaged, diabetes will also set in due to the absence of insulin.
Take complex carbo rather than simple carbo. Lots of veggies, and meat in the form of beef, poultry, and fish are advisable. Avoid condiments with much sugar too.
Hope this helps.

Natural meat like steak or chicken or turkey has no carbs. If you bread it and fry it then it does. Hot dogs might have some because of all the additive ingredients. Also things like maple and sugar cured ham would becuase they would contain some sugar. Another good choice for no carb would be pork chops. Keep the meat in its natural state. Broil it, pan fry it in butter, grill it t hen you keep the carbs away. Also if you add sauces such as A1, ketchup, bbq...etc you are adding carbs.

If you are eating just meat, there should be no carbs at all, just proteins and fats. If it is in a dish with other ingredients, then you need to account for the carbs in the other ingredients.
