It is a lovely thought but probably not practical. First not many places rent out ponies for parties anymore. It costs a lot to rent one, pay to transport it to your house and then there is the extra cost of the insurance you would need to get for the day. The pony could buck someone off, bite someone or kick someone. Have you noticed most ponies are not white? This might also be another problem, finding one. What about getting a beautiful white carousel horse music box to commentate your birthday. Look on the web for one.

The British horse society (www.bhs.org.uk) has a list of approved riding schools - just click on their link to find one in your area. Anyone approved by them should be suitably qualified and insured with well cared for ponies.

Not all riding schools will hire out their ponies - but they may be able to recommend someone.

Another alternative might be the local livery yard, who may have someone willing to come with their pony for you - but bear in mind this would be probably be a private owner without the professional's level of insurance. Good luck!

And you should have no problem finding one if you ask around locally, look in your yellow pages or the very least tell us where you live. There are people from all over the world on this site.
