you can heat a wider variety of food (and drinks) with a microwave plus you have the defrost option. the toaster oven is great with bread and pizza but that's basically it. i dont like the way the microwave makes bread and sandwiches soggy so i rely on the toaster oven for those items. i cant live without both but i think we use the microwave oven more. of course the microwave uses more power compared to the toaster oven but the toaster oven is way cheaper than a microwave oven!!! just get both!!!

Well, a microwave oven cooks food evenly, actualy it cooks food from the inside to out, in a conventional oven or a grill it is the other way. Secondly it cooks much faster than others. It consume less power for a given work compare to both the grill& toaster. Oil less cooking is possible.

I have both and use it as I need them.

Some cooking and warming can best be done in one of them so depending on what needs to be done and my personal choice I use them.

I also use 4 burner all electric range and large ovens as needed, mainly for major meals.

Grilling is done on an out door LP Grill and for boiling water or frying onions I use LP burner that is on the grill out door.
