I wouldn't 'cause I'm a vegan, but am morbidly curious, lol. Nothing against chitterlings or those who eat them. I'm Mexican, and before going vegan, I've eaten "gross" stuff like tripas (beef stomach) and lengua (beef tongue), and liked it. Just curious.

Oh, but I couldn't bring myself to eat sesos (brain), lol!

You are absolutely right, all meat is corpse chunk, therefore all meat is gross.

THEY ARE *so* GOOD! OMG! We only have them at Christmas when my grandmother makes them. they kind of remind me of calimari---same texture almost. I can hardly explain it if you never eat meat. But they are very tasty. if you eat tripas, they are not all that different (my grandmother serves them with hog mawls, which is the tripe part of a pig, not a cow).

The texture is really weird if you are not used to it. My father is a butcher so I've always known what they are, but I never ate them until I went out for soul food with some people from work. The smell and the taste ("hooked up" with vinegar and hot sauce) is pretty good, but I couldn't get over the texture. I guess it's all what you're used to. We didn't eat it in my family. It's more of an African American and Southern thing, but since I eat Scrapple a lot which is nothing more than seasoned pig offal, I couldn't be put off buy the fact that it's pig intestines.

I'll try anything!!!

I love chitterlings and they taste good to me. I've also tried Juanita's pozole (I hope I spelled it correctly), a delicious popular Mexican stew. It contains tripe and I really liked it. You stated that you like tripe so the chances are high you might enjoy chitterlings, too, since they taste similar. To be perfectly honest, ALL MEAT is dead animal so in that sense ALL MEAT could be viewed as "gross"!! LOL.

I've never had them but I'd love to try them. I've heard it kinda taste like diniguan (Filipino name -made with pig intestines etc) Hawaiians call it....Na'au or Loco. Both also made with the pigs blood. and intestines.

lol I'll pass on any brains too tyvm!.

They have no flavor and that are stinky and nasty. It's where the dooky was. People that like them grew up eating them.

Not sure but I do know that they smell so very bad. I hear they are rubbery but I think they are an acquired taste. You either hate them or love them. No one in my family eats them.
