It's a horrible stinging whenever I try to sit up straight and breathe in. My heart beats irregular and Iv'e had some 20 second day to day pains last summer, but today it's not going away. Most of the discomfort goes away when I slouch forward but it still hurts when I breathe in. I'm very physically active and had a very hard swim test the other day that took a lot out of me. What do you think this is?

p.s- I know I need to go to a doctor, but any ideas?

I have gotten that stining pain on and off for yrs also....the doctor always looks at me cross-eyed when I tell her....she told when the pain is happening to get to the hospital so they can figure it out then....not days later

i had the same symptoms last year. i went to the ER and it turned out to be that i had pulled a back muscle from coughing to hard.(i had a respiratory problem) any way, since you said you just had a hard swim test it could be something as simple as that.

prevention is better than cure.
scheduled heart surgery is preferable to an emergency situation, medication is better than either... finding out it is something else, or nothing at all would be the best scenario, but you'll never know unless you go get it checked out. what is holding you back?
