My lower legs and feet have been swelling badly, to the point where it feels as if they are being bruised from the inside out.
I am having severe shortness of breath.
The other night I woke up to find my left arm completely numb..and I could not close my hand. Also, my hand was ice cold. After a bit, it was as if blood came back into my arm and hand, like it had "gone to sleep", only more so.
I have been on lasex for fluid retention, and also breathing medication, but the problem keeps getting worse.
If anyone can give me some real advice, it would be much appreciated.
Thanx in advance.

My advice is to contact a medical professional immediately for proper diagnosis and treatment These could be heart-related symptoms or they could not be! Please do this sooner rather than later as these symptoms could be treated and managed before it turns into a full-blown heart related problem!

I hope this helps.

I would say you definitly need to let your doctor know that the lasix isn't working enough. You could be in Congestive Heart Failure with that much fluid retention in the legs and shortness of breath. Give him/her a call.

If the medication you are on for swelling is not working, you need to return to your doctor and be reevaluted. There are many good drugs for heart problems and swelling. How is your blood pressure? Your arm going numb could be a sign of heart problems or it could just be that you slept on it wrong. I would seek a doctors opinion.

Yes, it is possible for these symptoms to be heart-related. Shortness of breath and fluid retention are symptoms of heart failure or cardiomyopathy. Have you had any heart tests done? You really need to get to a doctor quickly and have some heart tests done.

The swelling sounds like edema, you may need a higher dose of Lasix. Go to the doctor.
