Yes, I take more than 5 prescribed medications per day. I take 9 RX meds per day. I take Diovan, Lasix, Metformin, HCTZ, 81 mg Aspirin, Coumadin, Lipitor, Potassium, and Klonopin (but only take the Klonopin if needed). I am so use to taking the meds now it does not bother me at all. It is like clock work everyday, some are taken in the morning and some are taken at night.

I have been on the above medications since April of 2003. I had open heart surgery (mitral valve replacement). I stay healthy by exercise, trying to eat right, watching my weight. I also see my doctors on a regular basis and make sure I get lab work done once per year to ensure none of the above medications are affecting my liver or kidneys.

30 years ago or more very few medicines were available to treat disorders. eg hi BP. The result was early death. It is possible now to keep BP down with 1 to 4-5 meds that could never have been controlled before. So- called 'malignant hypertension' ,(BP over 180\100) was a death sentence 30+ years ago. Now it is easily controlled!! Thank God for the drug companies!!
Given our plentiful food supply and our lack of exercise, the best way to maintain health, at least as far as the circulatory system is concerned, is to take cholesterol lowering statins and also, especially, Zetia. It will lower the cholesterol to 125 or lower. 'Normal' is probably 75-100. The death rate from heart attacks and strokes will likely show huge drops or even elimination. The USA death rates are already showing a huge drop, cause not shown as yet.

yes, Lexapro, for fibromyalgia..toprolxl for high bp...lisinopril for high bp if needed...aspirin for blood... tramadol, soma, fierocet as needed for pain management all for fibromyalgia...try to not take the as needed meds unless in pain...with chronic condition like fibro I know I have many years of discomfort and down right PAIN ahead of me and do not want to be addicted. I have in the past been on soma, hydrocodone, xanax and hated being under the influence every minute of the day..and yes they are all addictive...any one on a lot of meds must use their heads and keep a close eye on thir physical symptoms to avoid becoming addicted just to live.

if it is ok with you docter that your taking this many medicines then you should be completly healthy but if you haven't cleared this with you doctor then you may be creating a synergistic effect which means you mix drugs together which could be bad for you
