Taco Bell does NOT have the best mexican food in the country. The best mexican food comes from authentic mexican restaurants. In terms of mexican fast food I think that Baja Fresh, El Pollo Loco and Del Taco hold the top spots. Taco Bell is like the bottom of the barrell. Thanks for the great question!

Sorry to burst your bubble. Taco Bell isn't Mexican food. It's fast junk food with seasoning similar to those used in Mexican food. Your best bet for Mexican food would be to explore the cuisine of the different regions of Mexico through some good cook books or magazines. Saveur is an excellent food magazine that discusses not only the foods of Mexico but a lot of countries

If you think taco bell is the best Mexican food in the country, pobre de ti (poor baby).
Just about every place that I've visited in yhe US has a good Mexican restaurant, the name of the place is quite often the name or nickname of the person who opened it.
I invite you to not stop at taco bell and look for a place like Tita, La Chata, Pepe's, etc.

LOL @ Taco Bell being "gringo food".

Taco Bell being called Mexican food is a disgrace!
You have not had any Mexican food until you've tasted some of my Tia's.
But anyway, go to a local place, like others suggested.
Or make some on your own. You can google recipes or go to www.foodnetwork.com just make sure they say it's "authentic".
When you have REAL Mexican food you will never want Taco Bell again.

Taco Bell ? Mexican Food? I am assuming your just kidding right? You must live in a remote area. The best mexican food is home-cooked or small local family-owned restaurants. If you are ever in Tucson, Az. I know you will love Las Margaritas and Macayos. They are supreme. The next best thing to my Mom's own gourmet Mexican cuisine. Taco bell is just a cheap eats place.

Taco Bell is NOT mexican food. It is fast and that is all.
The best Mexican food is Cozymel's or a locally owned and operated place. In our city there are lots of GREAT places to choose but Taco Bell is not anywhere close.

Man you asked for it and you really got it.

Taco bell is not Mexican food. It's like saying hamburger steak is a steak.

There are so many small and large restaurant chains that have great Mexican food.

If you want taco, visit King Taco or El Taurino in LA. THEIR THE BESTEST.

I have a hard time even considering taco bell as food let alone Mexican food.Any taco shop such Los Cuates or La Mesita puts them to shame. And as for the best mexican food in the country........that is not something you can easily decide because each region is a little different . it all depends on your taste ( lack thereof in the case of taco bell)

Brother! Are you in Canada or Antarctica?! If you believe that Taco Bell is the best Mexican food in the US you are deprived. Not only is it not the best, its not in the vote, and I'm just talking chain restaurants not real restaurants. That's a whole notha animal. You need to trade in some Sky Miles and take a trip to Texas or Cali if you can't get to Mexico proper. Andele!
