I quit eating red meat (reasons aren't really important) and I'm having trouble finding info that specifically states what vitamins are being missed by not eating it. Does anyone know? I could just ask my doc if I need to take anything at my next appt I was just wanting some ideas.

lol.. animal bodies don't manufacture vitamins or minerals for the most part. Someone might tell you that you're missing out on b-12, but I don't believe that to be true myself. By not eating red meat you've eliminated much more important things like added cholesterol, foreign blood, parasites, hormones, flesh that would rot in your intestines and saturated fats to name a few.

Red meat contains iron, B vitamins, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, selenium.. but you can easily obtain these from plant sources. Thats where the animal got them from. Animals are just carriers because there bodies use these vitamins and minerals for the same reasons we do (we're animals meh.) We just absorb them when we consume there flesh because we all live the same way on the same planet as equals biologically speaking.

None. The only nutrient found naturally only in meat is B12 and you can get plenty in fish, dairy products or just a 3/4 cup serving of a fortified cereal per day. Of course, you need to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables to insure you get enough vitamins and minerals and nuts, seeds, beans and legumes to get your protein.

You can find "veggie" vitamins in most natural food stores. They're multivitamins formulated for vegetarians. I sometimes take B complex vitamins.
