yes you get what's called a genotype from your mom and one from your dad and that's what makes your phenotype! your dad obviously gave you the A type and your mom would've given you an O type because being O that's all she has( a O bld type has no antigen) and since A is dominant over O your bld type is A!! Which means technically you could recieve bld from your mom or your dad, but your mom couldn't recieve bld from either of you!!!

Yes.
dad = A-, so he is AO or AA, --
mom = O, so she is OO
mix AO + OO = AO or OO
I can't tell you about the Rh factor [ neg or pos ] because you didn't include mom's!
P.S. If your dad is basing this only on an army blood test for dog tags - those are not accurate.

^Yes, it's possible. The minus (-) means your RH is negative and plus (+) means your RH is positive.
The RH (rhesus factor) also known as the "D" factor; a protein found on the surface of red blood cells. In the system established for typing blood, the rh factor determines the "positive" or "negative" aspect (for example, "B positive" or "O negative"). If one is "positive", s/he possesses the Rh factor. I hope this helps.

Try going to the hospital and get a DNA test, and your doctor should answer this question for you.
I hope that this helps.
