I seem to be getting herpes outbreaks every now and then. I tried all medicines and some have taken effect but some didnt. Will my kids get the infection from me?

Since you said herpes STI, I'm guessing all you have is genital herpes and not cold sores.

You won't be able to pass it to your kids unless you have some sort of sexual contact (which I'm sure you don't). You can't pass the virus from them using the toilet after you though, or swimming in a pool with you for example. You need to have sexual contact in order to spread it.

Cold sores are a little different though (same virus, just spread a little different). They can be spread by sexual contact (like oral sex), but they are usually spread by kissing someone. So, if you have a cold sore then you'll want to avoid kissing your children.

Good luck!

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?

But after a friend share this video everything has changed.

If you have genital herpes and wash your hands each time after you go to the bathroom, then I would say no. If you have any other Herpes infections, i.e., sores on you mouth or nose, if you do not touch the sores or share drinks, and always wash your hands, again, the chances are so slim I couldn't even give you a percentage.

Bottom line, wash your hands a lot and do not share food and/or drink with your kids during an outbreak. Even if you only have genital Herpes it is easy to transfer it to yourself in other areas.

herpes is very contagious. keep your hands off of the sores, don't share lip balms, use your own toothpaste and towels, and see your doctor for antiviral meds.

There is a possibilties that they will have it since STDs travels through the blood/bodily fluids.

No, it is very unlikely that your kids will get it because it can only be transmitted sexually.
