Anything kosher would also be halal. Look for the kosher symbol on food, like a U inside of a circle. Kosher ice cream brands include Klein's, Dippin' Dots and Tasti D-lite. Also, some Baskin Robbins products are kosher, but you have to buy the quarts, not go to the stores, to be sure, as they mix their scoops. Sorbets shouldn't be a problem for you, as they are just fruit, sugar and water.

The best way to avoid ice cream with the ingredients you mentioned would be to invest in an ice cream maker. This way you know what is in the ice cream. Regardless of being halal many people go this way because the additives added in commercial ice cream are unhealthy.
I just made some delicious papaya frozen yogurt with my Cuisinart Yogurt/Ice Cream maker. It tasted much better than the store ice cream not to mention it is cheaper. It is actually a healthy dessert when made at home!
BTW, I don't know of any commercial brands.
Feel free to email me if you need assistance.

If you come to Malaysia you can have loads and buckets of halal ice creams... the people here are very particular about the halalness of food. It is practically easy to get halal food here. It's verywhere. We even have halal gelatine.

Never heard of Halal ice-cream before. But, you may try Dreyer's. They usually don't have gelatin.

haagen-dazs ice creams usually don't have gelatin in their products...and they're SOOOOO good!
you can go to their website and click on "products" and click on the product you want and they'll have a link to their nutritional info and ingredients. www.haagen-dazs.com.
home-made ice cream is also always good. check out www.williams-sonoma.com for ice cream recipes.

are you sure you are not hindu instead of muslim? Muslims can eat gelatin... just nothing derived from pork, but beef, lamb, or other allowed animal meat gelatin is ok.. .. We eat jello, jellies, ice cream (by the bucket loads) here in SaudiArabia... .. Also if you spend your life worrying about what is or isnt halal.. you will suffer... As long as you know it doesnt have pork in it, just say "bismillah" before you eat it and be done with it.. Allah tells us to not make the religion hard on ourselves or he will make it harder.. Take everything in moderation but still withing the basic guidelines of Islam.. So just eat your icecream and be done with it...
