HIV is a blood borne pathogen, you get it from unprotected sex and possibly a blood transfusion (tho that is less than likely now with the testing they do on blood that has been donated). The virus cannot live out side the body for more than a few seconds so you cannot get get it even living in close contact with an infected person, touching, kissing, sharing drinking glasses etc will not give you HIV.

yep, blood transfusions, mother to child, I.V. drug use, unprotected sex.
Now for the toothbrush thing, the transaction time from that person mouth with blood on it to yours and your mouth would have to have an open sore or cut to complete the transmission.
the touching part, NO. You can't get aid via that way. Aids/HIV is a blood borne pathogen and has to be transmitted that way.

all i can tell you is from reading, but any bodily fluids transferred from someone with aids to another person it is possible but not likely you will get it. using someones tooth brush surely it has bodily fluids.
this best way is go be tested. you most likely don't have it but be tested and again in 6 months and if you really feel you have contacted lots of their bodily fluids, don't have sex in this time period as if you do have it you can give it to someone else...

One can also contract HIV from ingesting bodily fluids of a person carrying the disease. THOUSANDS of innocent babies in Africa have HIV simply because their mothers contracted HIV from husbands and lovers and have passed it on to their babies from feeding them with contaminated breast milk. It is very sad.

First, AIDS and H.I.V are 2 different things. I doubt that saliva will transmit the H.I.V. virus.I know that H.I.V. does not survive for long in open air.
If you really wanna know, go to the C.D.C.'s website.
