Alright, I am a frustrated raw foodist. Right now I am about 75%, but I have been wondering about the B Vitamin issue..

In my research it has come up that David Wolfe mentions in an interview that he eats ants for B Vitamins, but this interview seems to have happened in between the last edition of The Sunfood Diet Success System, and the new edition.. I have now read both versions.. Neither say ANYTHING about it that I have noticed..
I'd ask on the raw food forum, but it has come up before, and turns into a huge argument between the raw dairy people and the vegans.. To me, raw dairy is not an option.. I'm vegan, and have been for a long time. Right now I'm just taking the supplements.. Try to be respectful of other beliefs in your answer, but I'm trying to figure out if the supplements are necessary.. or is there a better source.

Nutritional yeast is an excellent source of b complex vitamins, actually is more nutritious uncooked, and makes things yummy. There are some good recipes for it. One of the best for me is the vegan cheez whiz recipe in the uncheese cookbook.

I am a RAW Foodist. I use in Liquid from a B-complex(Sublingual BTotal) & B-12 w/folic acid(Vitiamin Shoppe). I started these before I became raw. 1) even if 1 person is doing SAD(Standard American Diet) the food sources really lack the needed vitamins, 2)B's are need for energy also I found they help alot.
3)Yes in theory as Raw we should be getting all we need..That is IF we live in a Ideal world & eat ideal food. Doesn't always happen in my life so I do a little extra.
I think David was joking about the ants. He tends to be quite colorful sometimes & likes to shake people's preconceived notions..

I am a vegetarian, and I take Vemma daily. It is an amazing complete liquid vitamin supplement. It has all of the vitamins and essential minerals, and it's made with mangosteen, plus it is loaded with B vitamins and antioxidants. And it tastes good. I have lots of energy and my blood sugar stays level throughout the day.

My real testiment is my 3 kids. They are vegetarians as well and extremely picky eaters, and they even like it.

nutrition B12 is the only nutrition produced in nature in common terms by potential of microorganisms. It finally leads to animals (like us and cows) and animal products because of the fact they digest it. in case you're actually not out residing in nature, you're probable no longer choosing up the very small quantity of nutrition B12 in case you're actually not getting it secondhand from animal products. Animals in agriculture, who're removed from a organic habitat in basic terms as we are, regularly have their diets supplemented. Cows, as an occasion, that are actually not out grazing on land wealthy in cobalt have their diets supplemented with cobalt to help micro organism of their digestive structures produce nutrition B12. while human beings (even meat eaters) upward push up into their 50's and previous, they could start to have issues digesting the B12 from any nutrition. so as that they are regularly advised by potential of medical doctors it extremely is a solid theory to complement. except a complement lists some thing like dessicated liver interior the components, the B12 is produced by potential of microbial fermentation. it is vegan as long as there are actually not the different further components on the label, including gelatin. i've got been vegetarian or vegan for some years, take a small nutrition B12 on a daily basis, and characteristic by no potential had a deficiency. because of the fact we live cutting-area lives indoors with each of the conveniences and drink taken care of water, I evaluate taking a B12 complement or eating fortified nutrition on a daily basis to be the main necessary element a vegan can do for a healthy eating habitual.
