I'm not sure but if you do have diabetes then you should call Liberty Medical, they work with your insurance company and you testing supplies may be covered. They can help you live a better life.

It may be the shoes you are wearing. Make sure you are wearing shoes that fit well and allow your feet to breathe.
Also, instead of creams and ointments, which have medications that may cause drying, get some cocoa butter. Not the cocoa butter lotion, but the actual cocoa butter solid (you can find it in the lotion section in a jar-type container). It is extremely moisturizing and works wonders for dry skin. Put it on your feet at night before bed and sleep with no socks on.
Diabetes would be the last thought on my mind. Don't stress about that, if you had diabetes, dry feet would be the least of your symptoms/worries....

As a healthcare provider, my question is: Why can you not 'confirm' whether you are diabetic or not? A simple blood test can extend or save your life. In the overall scheme of things, why would cracked, dry, itchy skin on your feet concern you more than diabetes? Athlete's Foot can be annoying but not deadly ( but you are right, it would help to warrant a blood test for diabetes). However, diabetes left untreated will kill you....or blind you.....or cause your kidneys to fail....and, of course, lead to amputation of lower limbs from infections that will not heal. So.........CONFIRM.

my best friend has diabetes. just because your foot is dry and cracks isnt a clear indicator of diabetes, there are alot of symptoms. The best thing you can do about it is to go to your doctor and express your worry about it. make sure to mention that you think its diabetes. Another thing you can do is go on www.webmd.com and in the middle of the home page is a thing called "Symptom Checker" put your symptoms into that for an estimate on whats causing it.

As a type 2 diabetic myself, I must say that there is no one hundred percent way to know if you are or are not a diabtic unless you pay your doctor a visit. If you suspect that you are, then you need to call your doctor TOMORROW. I really urge you to make that appointment, get the foot looked at and you will have to take a battery of blood tests. There are other symptoms of diabetes as well, like increased thirst, urination, unexplained weight loss, extremely dry skin, nausea, and queaziness. Please, please, please, contact your doctor. I cannot stress that enough!

You should have a blood test which will test your sugar level. I did and my glucose levels were very high and I am now taking medication to reduce the levels so that I will not get diabetes.
Sounds like you may have athletes foot.
