I really, really don't want to put it in landfill, but obviously there's no point putting it in a charity shop when they can't sell it. it can probably be fixed, but I don't need it and i can't afford to pay for the repair. does anywhere take old stuff and fix it up? (around Glasgow?)

Try Freecycle.org. It's a place where people give stuff away for free. Someone might need it for parts or know who to fix it. They have one in almost every community. Also keep the site in mind if you have stuff you may no longer need or have a use for but someone else might. That way it won't end up in a landfill.

Put it on http://www.recycle.co.uk/ as spares or repair. I know someone will want it.
I belong to it and there are some amazing things that are wanted or that people are getting rid of.

Just look for your area on their website. There is one for most towns, and cities.

There are electronics recyclers popping up everywhere see if there is one near you. Also you could call repair shop and see if they would like it for parts. Good Luck!

Sell it on Ebay as "spares". Someone might fix it or mod it into something cool.

Call your local waste disposal company and ask if there is anywhere to take it. You can also call an electronics store and ask about electronics recycling.
