A quick search on Answers leads me no where. So, those of you that have a current knowledge on the subject , could you answer some of the specific questions below? .... I've done some research, for a paper, but this is always a lot faster.

1.) Which states have mandated the HPV Vaccine for Immunization Schedules?

2.) What is you're opinion about the Vaccine? Why?

3.) & How's life?

1) Legislation has been introduced in the state of Michigan to make Gardasil mandatory but, it is uncertain if this legislation will pass.

Texas Governor Rick Perry issued an executive order on February 2, 2007 mandating the vaccine be given to all school girls entering sixth grade, beginning September 2008. This ruling would allow parents to opt out of vaccinating their daughters. On April 25, 2007, the Texas legislature overruled Governor Perry's order, forbidding mandatory vaccination until at least 2011.

New Hampshire has adopted a voluntary program, in which it supplies the vaccine free of charge to girls between the ages of 11 and 18. This has met with wide acceptance, with many young women requesting the vaccine. South Dakota and Washington are considering similar measures.

2) I think it's great. I contract HPV and developed cervical cancer from it when I was 17 years old. It was HORRIBLE and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. If it can prevent young girls from contracting such a horrible disease and possibly prevent them from getting cervical cancer, then why not get it? The only concern I have is that it is very new. I'd like to see some long term results from it.

3) Great! How are you?

This is a very interesting question because HPV is a hot topic these days. You are definitely going to have to do some real research instead of asking on here. Here is a link that should help you out http://www.ncsl.org/programs/health/HPVvaccine.htm

.I think Texas was the first state to mandate the vaccine. Several states have introduced legislation at least creating a task force in looking into whether the vaccine should be mandated.

I use to be against the vaccine, but now I think that the vaccine should be mandated just like chicken pox. HPV is very common, there is currently no cure and condoms do not protect against it. A vaccine will greatly decrease the risk of contracting it.
