I am taking Metaformin. It's generic glucophage. Check out Byetta, it's not a pill; it's insulin. It's new and has contributed to weight loss.

As all the other people have said metformin is a generic to glucophage. I went on metformin on May 1 and lost 15 lbs. I just don't have an appetite but I do eat and weight everything and count calories and carbs. I feel terrific on this pill. I am a type 2.

Metformin/Glucophage is NOT for weightloss...it like everyone has told you is for blood sugar control.....
Queen_N7 was a little right about Byetta.....it is NOT THOUGH Insulin....I have been taking it for about 2 weeks now it is suppose to help your body with its own insulin. And it has helped some lose weight because of its making you feel full so you don't eat so much.....go to their web site Byetta.com and check it out....but again it IS NOT INSULIN!!

^ Glucophage is the generic, Metformin is the brand name. they are the same medication.

I'm assuming your diabetic, because these pills are for people with diabetes and you still must diet and exercise to lose weight with these pills. I hope this helps.

Don't keep junk food in your kitchen. If it's not at this time there, you can't be tempted because of it.

Make pancakes even healthier with the addition of mashed baked sweet potato, a few pureed spinach and blueberries, or even cooked quinoa.
