Depend very much on occupation and organization you are working in. Sometimes the boss is lineant and your staff members, realize and share your job.
However if your job is straineous, and stressful than search for a new job.
Nothing is important to your family than your life.

I guess it would depend on your employer. At the post office they can actually put you out for 3 months. Your blood pressure has to be checked regularly and stable for 3 months for you to come back to work. Do you qualify for FMLA? The doctor can fill out this paperwork for you and you could submit that. If the doctor says no work between certain hours and gives a good reason they have to grant it.

Unlikely, I would search for a new job and make sure that my blood pressure is kept under control with medication.
