Yes to all your questions.
Trichomoniasis can usually be cured with the prescription drug, metronidazole, given by mouth in a single dose.
Metronidazole usually does not make a person vomit. However, when mixed with alcohol it can make a person vomit, so you should avoid alcohol when taking the medication. Also, metronidazole has a HORRIBLE taste to it. It tastes like metal. It's a good idea to eat or drink something right afterwards to kind of wash away the taste.
And, yes, a person can have more than one STD. I personally contracted two incurable STDs at the same time.

RE:
Trichomoniasis is sexually transmitted...?
Is this single dose of Metronizadole the only way to eliminate trichomoniasis? does it make you vomit? can you have other STD's if you have trichomoniasis?

Trichomoniasis is related to sexual contact. Rarely do we see it prior to sexual contact. If you are diagnosed with this and have no other symptoms your doctor may or may not test you for other sexually transmitted diseases. Remember though as long as you are sexually active there is a chance you may contract diseases associated with sex. No this is not the only way to treat this condition. There is also a vaginal cream. And yes the medication you were give may make you nauseated. And remember don't drink alcohol while on this medication or you may become very nauseated and vomit. Make sure to see your doctor for follow-up

Yes, it is an STD caused by a protozoan. About 20% of all women have these parasites in their genito-urinary tract.
Metronizadole is the treatment of choice, one dose, 2g by mouth is effective in 95% of all cases if the partner is treated simultaneously.
Resistant cases can be treated with intravenous metronizadole.
Many people with trichmoniasis have gonorrhea or other stds. You and all partners should be screened and treated.

Yes,it's one of the most common STD's,and easily spread to your partner,so he must be treated also, males usually have much milder symptoms. The single dose metronizadole is one method of treatment,if it made you vomit, you should call your MD.Prevention should be understood, along with other "safe sex" practices.Having this kind of STD can make you more susceptible to the HIV infection.Lot's of good info on Google.Take care.
