Through the exchange of the sexual fluids ie semen or vaginal secretions through any sexual activities. Through performing oral sex, the exchange of saliva and sexual secretions. If the man is not wearing a condom, then the semen and ejaculate that contains the STD enters the body (through the anus, vagina, mouth, etc.) and then the virus is in that person's body. From there it can enter their blood stream, or mix with their own bodily fluids and reproduce.

Even if one does wear a condom, skin to skin STDs like genital warts are spread just by the touching of one person's skin to another. So even fondling one another can lead to the spread of genital warts.

Breastfeeding, the STD is being ingested through the breast milk into someone's mouth. Needle, the organism of the STD on the needle point is passed into someone's blood stream. Pregnancy, the mother's genes are passed onto the baby.

How the STD affects you depends on the STD. It mainly gets into the body through blood, vaginal secretions, semen or saliva.
