You might need to take a second dose of fluconazole (Diflucan). The first pill probably helped a lot, but it didn't completely get rid of the infection. Do you know if you have a refill on the medication?
I had this happen to me too about a year ago when I was taking antibiotics. My doctor gave me a prescription for fluconazole x 2 doses. She said if it didn't get better after the first dose then I was to taken another pill in about 2 weeks.
You should probably call your doctor again, or possibly see her if you can. She might want to give you another dose or give you something else in case you got something different from your new guy. Good luck to you!
***Also, I REALLY doubt it's herpes, like someone above said. You'll KNOW if you have herpes. It is extremely painful and you'll have large, red, swollen sores on your genital area. Herpes and yeast infections are completely different, and have nothing to do with each other. The don't even have the same symptoms or anything close to the same symptoms. And, if it was genital herpes, fluconazole would have no affect on it because fluconazole only treats fungal infections, not viruses (which herpes is).

Your doctor should have told you that diflucan is not an immediate cure. It can take several days for the pill to clear the infection and alleviate your symptons. Depending on the severity of the infection, you may need two doses.
Also... never use the 1 day treatment. It doesn't work. 7 day treatment is best.
You shouldn't have sex while using the medication. Guys can get yeast infections too; however, they don't hang around in them. If you have sex before your infection clears, you can transfer it to your mate and he can transfer it back to you. It's a neverending cycle unless you abstain until your clear.
If you don't have (1) a foul odor and (2) discharge that is not typical of a yeast infection I would say the chances of you having a STD that requires antibiotics to cure are slim to none.
Call your doctor to follow up.

I would say, yes. Your best bet would be to get to the doctor and get checked out. It is possible that it is just a yeast infection; but, you'll want to be sure. I had a yeast infection that required two doses of diflucan in addition to a 7 day treatment gel. If it is just yeast you could have a really bad case of it. Either way, you need to get to the doctor to make sure. In the future, seriously think about taking precautions when sleeping with anybody...even the ones you know (who knows where they've been!).

Sweetie, what you might think is yeast may be herpes. Studies show that most people don't know that they have herpes, especially if they don't have any outbreaks. A good friend of mine had been complaining about constant yeast infections, & she had several sex partners, during her annual checkup the doctor noticed discharge that look like the typical yeast infection but it was herpes. She couldn't pinpoint who it came from or how long she had it, but if your doctor hears itching, discharge they assume yeast as you have but don't assume because you could be passing a disease & not know. Do your research, most STD's give you some kind of detection 2-3 days later or at least within a week, go get checked out, better safe than sorry!

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about five years back, whilst I was still attending college and had a dumb one-night stand. I understand loads of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/DOMij everything improved.
Not only was I able to eliminate all remnants of the herpes virus from my system in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This method provided me the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

For yeast infections, using the 7 day treatment is better. However, you could also have a kidney infection.
Hopefully you and the new guy used a condom. If not, go get tested immediately.
I would also call your doctor back and let her know the medication is not working. She might want you to come back in for some additional testing.

Go to the doc. You could've gotten something, and why risk it? Since you have already tried yeast infection meds and that didn't work, you could have a bacterial infection or a bladder infection. Go get it checked out.

Yes you need to go to the doctor, the longer you wait the worse it will get. In the meantime drink cranberry juice. I know it tastes terrible but it will at least help. Good luck
