hey.....

i got my nose pierced 2 yrs back n wore a ring which hurt like crazy. i had to remove it. and when the thing closed, i got it pierced again.

So its not all that bad.

Here is what u need to do to get rid of the swelling:

Take a lil ghee and add a pinch of turmeric to it (pure clean turmeric - haldi), heat it just a little bit and apply to the swelling with a clean cotton.
Do that at night before sleeping. trust me it helps.

in the day you can apply some soframicin to the swelling (or get some anti-septic tube from a doc).

This will cure it in no time........ dont worry........ its not so bad and who ever gets their nose pierced goes thru it..

Take care!

You should not have swelling after a month. Although if you've been wearing silver and sticks in it, I'm not surprised. Organics (like wood) harbour bacteria, which is why you should never wear them in fresh piercings.

Get some decent jewlery in it (surgical steel or titanium only). If the swelling doesn't go down in a couple of days, or if you notice green discharge, get to your doctor right away. Use a mild sea salt solution to soak it 2-3 times per day for 10 mins each time

if something hasn't healed properly, wearing a ring is a bad idea, so first things first don'tuse a ring - it's really bad practice to pierce someone and put a ring it. Use a curly stud so that it doesn't fall out.

Secondly, give it a clean with salt water or pull the stud out a little and use a facial steamer. If there is a red lump on it which is often the case, don't pop it. Dab some tea tree oil on it which will dry it up in a couple of days.

Don't take it out - they are too expensive and painful to just give up on!

Good luck!

You are supposed to wait 6 weeks before you change it, but they just tell you that as a precaution. You can change your nose stud, but if it hurts when you move it, try cleaning around the area (the nose stud) with a Q-tip dipped in peroxide every night before bed for a week. If there is any infection causing the pain, the peroxide will keep it clean so it can heal. After that week, it should have healed enough to change it. Just make sure you buy from a QUALITY vendor, and make sure it is stainless steel and in an UNOPENED package. Otherwise, you run the risk of transmitting disease.

When I was a young teenager and stupid, I had my nose pierced. It hurt like hell and it never healed. Was always red and swollen, even after treatments. I finally wised up, took the damned thing out and went back to nature. It never healed and was to much pain all of the time, chances are, yours' may never heal either. Mine also triggered sinus problems in the short time I had it, so be careful.

if you don't want to take out the ring then i would advise to clean it with peroxide or alcohol. its gonna burn but it will kill any infections and u might also want to put some ice on your nose. It will help the swelling.

try using a baby stud of 10k or 14k.gold...silver often causes many people problems, wash often ,use a qtip to clean around the inside, and out. no proxide. never pick a scab off with fingers use damp qtip, turn ring often it will hurt for awhile but turn it, good luck,,,,,
