Which are Israel (verse 4).
Then why are there still Jews???
(notice how i worded this like the other questions like this)
Wouldn't a better fit to be with the 'great multitude' of verse 9?
Never been able to understand why JWs would think this. If you do, tell me, enquiring minds want to know.

I've never comprehended this either. The 144,000 are 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes, and I've not met a JW yet that can trace their lineage to one of the 12 tribes.

The Jehovah Witnesses are NOT the 144,000.
The 144,000 are from all of the Tribes of Israel, they are God's chosen.

I don't know why they think it either for it is incorrect according to The Word of God.

A word of wisdom: It would not be better to fit with the great multitude, why? Because these are the ones that have come-out of the Tribulation.

And then Satan is let loose again for 1,000 years, so dedicate your life to Jesus now, ask for forgiveness. You do not want to go Thur the Tribulation period, the horror is unthinkable and the Tribulation last for 7 years, broken down in 31/2 periods.

The return of Jesus to return on a cloud in that eastern sky, an archangel will sound the trumpet and all of the dead in Christ will rise first and we are Rapture up with Jesus. That time could be at any time!!

Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew who is one on the outside, nor is circumcision that which is on the outside upon the flesh. 29 But he is a Jew who is one on the inside, and [his] circumcision is that of the heart by spirit, and not by a written code. The praise of that one comes, not from men, but from God.

Once a person becomes an anointed Christian, he is now a Jew.

Rev 5:9 And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

Spiritual Jews (Gal 6:15,16) are from all nations, and are appointed or 'bought' to rule in heaven

Rev 14: 3 And they are singing as if a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one was able to master that song but the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been bought from the earth.

Only the 144,000 are bought from the earth.

Rev 7: These are spiritual Jews, or else Jesus made a mistake.

You will notice that Dan is missing and replaced with Joseph's son Ma·nas´seh in this list.

Romans chapter 2 says unless a fleshly Jew gets baptized into Jesus they are no longer Jews.

>Then why are there still Jews???

It is referring to Spiritual Jews rather then actual Jews.

the fact that the 144,000 are being sealed prior to the seven trumpets, indicates physical people involved starting with Jesus disciples.

The Tribes are symbolic.

Of the twelve tribes the two tribes of Dan and Ephraim are missing, to be replaced by Joseph and Levi. In most of the OT lists Joseph is replaced by his sons Ephraim and Manasseh (Gen 48:5, Josh 14:3-4). Since both Joseph and Manasseh are listed then you could say that Manasseh is listed twice. Levi is excluded from most lists because he should not be included in a census (Num 1:49). In the lists of the inheritance of land Levi is missing because the priestly tribe of Levi did not have its own inheritance of Land (Deu 10:9), but was kept by means of the tithes of the other tribes (Deu 18:1). Instead the Lord was their inheritance (Deu 10:9).

The fact that two out of the twelve tribes are missing is a major problem for those who take this list literally.

I don't understand the JW argument at all! The Bible PLAINLY says that 12,000 of each of the 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL are sealed! These Tribulation witnesses are Jews, Jews, Jews! The JW'S aren't the only ones going to Heaven despite their personal beliefs and etc. I wouldn't worry too much about their arguments, for they are in DIRECT contradiction to the Word of God.

To give the JW Perspective:

The 144,000 are to be in Heaven to rule with God. The rest of the faithful can be raised to have life on earth.

To understand it from my perspective (not JW) 144,000 is a very symbolic number. It comes from Revelation. 12 is an important number in Apocalyptic Literature as is any number that ends in a few zeros.

12 is probably important because it comes from the 12 tribes of Israel. Though one has to wonder if it was important before then. It often symbolizes a completeness in the author's mind.

Numbers with lots of zeros after it means a LOT. Kind of like when you were a kid and you said, "I bet my dad has a zillion dollars." You just couldn't imagine all the zeros that went into that number.

144 is 12x12 144,000 is saying it's a complete amount with all them zeros :)

The witness's do not believe they all are the 144,000, only those who believe truly in their heart that they shall stand along side Jesus in heaven, the rest believe they will be resurected in a new perfect earth after armaggedon.

Excuse me but my hubby is a lawyer and the word "witness" means to see and have proof. To witness jehovah is so laughable I am shocked people my age believe it. No one has proof and most so called "proof" are hoaxes. It is a cult with a wierd name and I cant stand them. We in the USA have a right to believe in worshipping your cat if you want. I grew up with a girl who felt left out on holidays because at age 8 she suddenly couldn't have a christmas tree or celebrate birthdays. Many of us gave her gifts so she couldn't be left out. We didn't do it out of religion! We did it because we are friends and to see her cry was painful. Children deseve a nice christmas, easter basket, and birthdays. Most of these holidays are for children and they should not feel bad when they see all the kids enjoying the fun of arts and crafts on these fun holidays. If there is a SCROOGE it is a jehovah witness

Jehovah's Witnesses expect that many thousands of the 144,000 have never set foot in a Kingdom Hall or read 'The Watchtower'.

The fact is that the vast majority of Witnesses hope to enjoy life ON EARTH forever, rather than in heaven. Jehovah's Witnesses understand heaven to refer to the dwelling place of spirit creatures such as Jesus and the angels. They understand the Scriptures to teach that exactly 144,000 humans will join Christ Jesus as kings and priests to administer God's Kingdom (which will soon replace all earthly governments).
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
(Revelation 14:1) Lamb [Jesus] standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand
(Revelation 20:6) they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him

The men and women who make up the 144,000 are selected by God from among two thousand years of Christians. Over whom will they rule? Over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

Hell is NOT someplace/something mankind needs to fear; there is no suffering in the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

Almighty Jehovah God selects those few who have the heavenly calling. Each person "feels" his own hope and each person's hope remains unquestioned by his fellow Christians. Still the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%*) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
