i know this seems stupid to most people, but to me, its one of the most important things to me right now.

im 160cm tall. (5'3")
my mum is 151cm (5'1") and my dad is 165cm (5'5").

im a 14yr old girl and want to grow to 170cm. (4 inches)
its not that much. its not even half the length of my hand.

my grandfathers are both 175cm. my uncles are 178cm.
(i only have aunts by marriage).

do you think i have a good chance? i went through my first menstruation cycle last sept, only 3 times since.

do you think i have a good chance? if so, please explain how.
if not, please also explain how.

i mean 10cm, sounds like a lot, it aint really. i just want to grow that much in at least 6-7 yrs.

do you think ill get there?? its my dream.
i dont care that i can wear high heels without towering over people, i want to. i want to be the one that towers over people.

i dnt care wat guys think. i want to be wat i want to be. not wat they want me 2 be.
i cry every night. plz help..

Wow you need to take a chill pill. I could think of a lot more serious reasons to cry every night. Whle 5' 03"m is a bit on the shorter side its not that uncommon, especially for a female. You likely will grow some more but so what if you dont. There are so many people in the world suffering from disease and illness and your all upset because your not as tall as you want to be. Isn't that being quite selfish and immature.

I wish that I were a couple inches taller, and wouldn't it be great to still have the six pack abs I had 5 years ago but that just isn't the case but I dont cry about it. You certainly should be proud to "be what you want to be" not what others want but as far as your height that is not something you really have control over so how about you focus on "being who you want to be" in other ways that you do have control over. You can start by gettin over your issue with the height and being a happier person because I'm sure the person you want to be isn't one that cries every night.

Probably not. Your family is pretty short, and it's not common for a girl to grow that many centimeters after puberty sets in. Whether you want to model or have some other 'life-or-death reason' for being that particular height, please keep in mind that there are so many things that really matter in life - your arbitrary height really does not. Get out there and enjoy this awesome day, hon!

(and trust me - I don't tower over most people - only Americans, who tend to be shorter - in heels, and I'm 175cm)

hey! i m 5'7" and m almost 20 now...i m not makin a pep talk to you but i too, always dreamed of being a tall fellow with huge body, ever since i was 17, i m behind my tail to get some muscle and some weight.....but most of it is genetic.....

my grandad was shorter than my dad, i m slightly taller than my dad, and now....i feel i m gaining muscles which is something unbelievable for me, cuz it has never worked out ever before no matter how much good diet i take, how many musces i break.....

my height probably wont go up now, or i might just hit 5'8" but atleast i know its genetic so dont panic.....

you got 4 years cuz generally they say that girls grow till 18 and boys till 20, you have taller genes in your tree so its cool, just wait....dont panic! dont loose your present because of four inches of the future!!

i ve heard and seen a few girls who loose their breast shape and tightness, trying to force their heights by using some weird products like slippers or something!

jog well, exercise well, stretch well but dont use any 'suggested' product just cuz some confident guy or girl says so over the internet......

just wait! have a good time! you ll grow up.....you have good time left, be sure to jog and take proper nutrition.....

you ll surely grow!

even if you dont grow[by chance] 10 cms, its sure to add something if not the whole....its no the end of the world to be inches shorter than you dreamed!!!

dont worry! just dont worry!
i m fine! u ll b too! ATbest!

This is a silly thing to concern yourself over as you really have no control over it.
But if you're that concerned you can get the doctor to x-ray your hand - they will be able to tell from the gaps between the bones you how much growing you have to do.
Being short ain't that bad - you have a much wider range of men to choose from!

You might grow one more inch but that's about it. I was done growing at 14. Women don't grow much after they've started their periods. Height won't matter much once you are an adult. I'm 5'2" and I always wanted to be taller when I was a teenager, but now as an adult, I don't care.

You are young. Be the best 'person' you can be, the height in all reality does not affect kindness, thoughtfulness, caring and doing what is right with your life and to those around you.

Honestly, your height will be what it will be, no one can make themselves get shorter or taller.

Good luck to you and focus on personality, assertiveness and being the best you can be.

There is a good chance that you might. The average woman stops fully growing their height at around age 20. Since you're only 14 you're probably going to continue to grow.
