From watchtower.org it stated the following:"Blood is also sacred in God's eyes. God says that the soul, or life, is in the blood. So it is wrong to eat blood. It is also wrong to eat the meat of an animal that has not been properly bled. If an animal is strangled or dies in a trap, it should not be eaten. If it is speared or shot, it must be bled quickly if it is to be eaten.—Genesis 9:3, 4; Leviticus 17:13, 14; Acts 15:28, 29"

The publication quote seems rather self-explanatory.

When meat is obtained through reputable sellers, there seems to be every likelihood that it was obtained from an animal which had been humanely and hygienically processed. A true Christian (such as a Jehovah's Witness) would likely avoid using meat from questionable suppliers and from "discovered" carcasses.

I remember getting those little watchtower pamphlets all the time. They crack me up. Now if you look at the bible not as a religion, or an absolute truth, but more of a book of fables with morals, and think back to the time period, maybe it was a way of saying, "don't eat something that has been rotting. It'll kill you" Back then they did not have the knowledge of bacteria, and they ate the same way my husband sometimes sorts socks. (the good old sniff test, doesn't smell bad then must be clean)

You can identify kosher foods because the packages are marked accordingly. Kosher meats are certified kosher by a rabbi, i.e. the animal was killed in the most humane method possible and all blood has been removed.

Well, I would say there is no proper way to kill. Animals are children of God too, and I don't think He is too happy to see us butchering them merely for the satisfaction of our tongue.

Kosher (Jewish) and hallal (Muslim) butchers follow the Torah rules in slaughter.
