No, sleeping is not a waste of time, its is infact a very important thing to do, not only does it give your brain time to rejuvenate, but it also helps the body relax and heel.

We are in need of sleep as much as we are in need of oxygen. Sleep is capable of working wonders: it increases your work efficiency, extends your lifespan, cures illnesses. You should not deprive yourself of sleep.

Lack of sleep can cause you to develope mental disturbances, visions and hallucinations. Sleep deprivation causes emotional disturbances in people. It may also lead to aggressiveness, apathy; result in fluctuations between euphoria and depression and vice versa. You can also experience pain in joints. People also lose their ability to think straight and act quickly.

In addition, it should be noted that sleep plays an important part in growth. 80% of the hormone is being produced during the first phase of sleep.

No, I don't agree you will burn out sooner if you don't get enough sleep it has also been found that not having enough sleep puts the body int o stress and leads to Obesity . And as you cant spell Waste correctly I would think you might also be subconsciously concerned about YOUR weight -waist

"waste" not "waist " . No - sleep is sooo important , your body heals in the deeper sleep and your mind resolves the days issues in the rem sleep - so you awake with a refreshed mind and body . Everybodys needs are different depending on what they did during the day and their age .

i think it is a inefficient use of time, however, it is nessesccary for the body to function. Its like saying emptying your bowels is a waste of time, yes it is but its gotta be done.

If someone can come up with some human recharge batteries or something similar will top bill gates in the money charts

wow... I disagree. Your body needs time to sleep so it can recharge. Also, without sleep you may be more prone to infections/virus (aka - getting sick) then you would if you slept a decent amount of time.
