Sorry my geography skills have been shown to be weak, USA fighters then versus Mexicans, Central Americans and South Americans. As some of the other fighters that i nearly added would of been Puerto Ricans, Venezuelans and Argentinians. (ie Cotto, Valero etc). Hope this doesnt stop others from answering the question it wasnt a geography question it was a boxing question.

With all due respect to the American fighters that you listed, I would definitely rather watch the Latin fighters. You know that you are going to get guaranteed action with them because of their styles. 4 of the 5 American fighters that you listed are really defensive fighters who put out just enough offense to win. Maybe with the exception of Taylor, who is not as skilled defensively as the other 4. The Latin fighters that you listed are all out action fighters that have rarely, if ever, been in bad fights. And while i do appreciate good technical and defensive skills, i'd much rather watch a fight that's going to give me that jolt and keep my adrenaline pumping while watching it. There's nothing more exciting than a good action fight where the fighters are going all out to win. The first round of Hagler-Hearns was better than any Superbowl, World Series, or NBA Finals that i've ever seen. No drama in sports can match the electric atmosphere of a fight like that. Just ask yourself this, which fight was better, Taylor-Spinks or Barrera-Marquez? That pretty much answers your question.

The Latino fighters are surely more interesting. All of those Americans have fairly large drawbacks as of late. Wright and Spinks don't knock people out even though they are very technically sound. Hopkins does not have a crowd pleasing style, very slow and often only one punch at a time. Taylor has been quite lackluster in his performances lately, like not being aggressive enough with Spinks. Mayweather is surely one of the best pound for pound but unfortunately his fight with De La Hoya did not live up to the hype.
The Latino fighters for sure. You should have put in Eric Morales too.

Personally Frank, I think both styles of fighting have their place, I would not want to see on a regular basis, my favorite Mexican fighters stand in front of each other and kill each other displaying low levels of head movement and somewhat poor defense. On the other hand a good brawl is certainly entertaining. Having said that Mayweather, Wright, Hopkins and maybe Taylor are the more technically sound fighters and sometimes this leads to a boring defensive fight, but I still want to these fights because these fighters attempt

I think all the fighters you listed as South Americans are mexican so that would make them North American. Having said that I would rather watch them than Mayweather etc.. more fighting less yapping!! I like Hopkins but the others on your list aren't fun to watch do alot of running in the rind especially Floyd. Barrera is probably my favorite fighter to watch. Always puts on a show and is a humble decent man out of the ring makes it easy to root for him

Just look at the two groups, the American fighters will dominate all of the South Americans. This was a no-brainer, the American fighters are at the top of the boxing elite for the moment.

I usually prefer the Latin Americans because you tend to see a lot more action, blood and drama even if the match reaches the 12th. But if I gotta choose based on the specific list above, then I'd have to go for the Americans, due to Hopkins and Taylor. Despite the criticisms, Mayweather isn't all that bad either, just not exciting enough for me, but I still don't mind watching him fight, personally, I actually like his defensive style in the ring.

Frank all the fighters you listed with exception of the American fighters are Mexican. They are from Mexico not South America. In the hemisphere that I live it is made up of North America (US, Canada and Mexico), Central America, and South America. I'm not giving you a hard time just thought I'd clarify.

I'd rather watch the first group most of the time. Besides being the more exciting fighters the majority of the time it seems like they are all guys that are willing to always take on tough fighters of all styles and they very rarely are involved in "easy" fights.

absolutely the Mexican fighters all the fighters you mentioned in the first set have to be some of the best fighters out there right now. there are some decent American fighters that are not as dull and money oriented as the ones you mentioned. pavlik, mickey ward ( when he was fighting was very exciting to watch) a lot of European fighters are great to watch too right now. kessler calzaghe (not sure if that one is spelled right) klitchko, hatton, witter, etc etc etc. but yeah the Americans have very few exciting prospects to watch at the moment.
