Your hormones kick in resulting in you uterus contracting in order to release the period from your body, which causes blood loss and some pain, it's just a normal thing unfortunately. Some women experience more pain than others but if this affects someones life badly and paracetamol etc doesn't work then it's a good idea to have a work with the Doctor for advise as no woman should have to suffer unnecessarily. It's not a pleasant experience to have pain but it is happening for a good reason. Suffering myself at the moment worst luck!!

Actually, having period pains is a good thing! Because this is your womb squeezing out the lining, the healthier your womb is, the more squeezing it does. There by causing pain. It can be eased by a heating pad on your stomach, painkillers and some aromatherapy oils in a carrier oil on some cloth is really helpful. At least you can think during the pain, "If I weren't in agony, I wouldn't be healthy!" A bit hard, but reasurring.
Hope you feel better soon x :-)

When you have a period , what is happing is that the lining of your womb is breaking down and coming away , this is very normal and a little pain will be felt,
If you are experiencing more pain than normal you should see your Doctor just for a check up.

As others have said, I would say it is blood clotting. So do what you can to thin your blood. Drink tons of water and if you are old enough, drink some beer. I had my hips go out of alignment all the time, so I get the depo shot every three months and have no period or pain whatsoever.

Endometriosis and polyps (usually benign, I've had one before) can cause painful periods. The only way to know for sure is to have this evaluated by your dr to see what they think is going on.

when you are on your period, what is happening is the lining of your uterus is sluffing off. sometimes for this to happen it contracts a little to help get all of the added lining that has been building up over the last 28days. when an egg is not implanted, the lining sluffs off causing the period.

according to my grandma, the cause of period pains are because the internal organs are cold and not well maintained.. grandma said to not drink too much cold drinks and that we should occasionally drink hot drinks.... actually it is more cramps than pains...if you need a recipe to help with the cramps...i have one that might help.... only that if you contact me ... i will personally write it out for you.... so sorry to hear you have the same thing i had before...

A lot of the pain is due to uterine spasm, this occurs in expelling the shed lining. Most of the other period problems, like the mood swings, are due to the hormone changes

It's when you get clots during your period. Because they are bigger they have to be pushed out of your body. And it does hurts when the wall is being shedded
