Gawler is a village that has grown over the years with the Adelaide suburbs stretching north. It is a lovely place to live, I have two cousins who live there. It is the gateway to the Barossa Valley, one of the main wine and food areas of South Australia and has easy access to the Adelaide Hills.

The beaches north of Adelaide are flat with no surf and the tide goes out a long way. There are mangrove swamps there as well which are great for fishing and bird watching. If you want a beach suburb, you should look south of Adelaide from Glenelg down the coast. Gawler is not a beach suburb and it would take you an hour to get to a reasonable beach. Even so, Gawler is a delightful village and well worth considering. There is a regular train service to Adelaide which is about 60km south of Gawler.

Gawler is abut an half hour from the gulf, although the more popular beaches are a bit further south. It is a nice town to live, but traffic can be a bit testy. There are a lot of nice homes available, over a full range of prices, and rentals cn be had. There is a train to Adelaide CBD, and from there, south to the southern suburbs. Community is generally safe, and all services are available. It is an older community, and has its quiet back streets.
