Well, there are some mobile phone shops directly in the Zurich airport, but I don't know about renting offers.

Probably it's best to use your own mobile phone and simply buy a prepaid SIM card for your stay here - same in France.

A two-frequence GSM mobile phone (900+1800MHz) would be perfect for both countries.

Hi, you can go to any SFR office in Paris (there's one at Roissy and Orly airports) and just buy a SIM. You're phone needs to be a GSM phone though. Then just pop the SIM into your phone and you're good to go! There are also mobile phone rental places in the airports (there are several airports in/around paris) and in some train stations.

www.cellhire.com

Or if you can read in French try www.orange.com also.

I did this once with Cellhire in Paris and they were wonderful. I received the phone at my hotel as well as a postage-paid bag to drop the phone off in. They were super nice. I tried to just rent an SMS card at first but it turned out my American phone was locked out from using other SMS cards, so they sent me an entire phone and cancelled all charges on the SMS card even though I hadn't even returned it yet. The phone worked fine in Europe and my mom even called me from America once with no problem. Anyway, enjoy your trip.
