I think that as an average, likely this is the case; however, it's not just today's youth, but the visible end of a trend that has been persisting for at least a century and likely a great deal longer.
Unfortunately, it's not just the parents reinforcing their own teachings from youth; some of the responsibility should also be shouldered by institutes that have frightened children away from their spirituality - not just religious institutes that put the emphasis on dogma above connection with deity, but also the secular institutes. Schools do not -allow- prayer or discussion about religion, which discourages people being open and discussing their beliefs and ideas; politicians and others as well have put it into our heads that somehow we should compartmentalize our spirituality - that none of it should spill into the workplace, or into politics, or into anything else.
Speaking as a 25 year old guy, barely out of my youth myself, I can say that there are some exceptions (like myself!), but unfortunately, few avenues seem to exist for true exploration of belief and spirituality that are not judgmental or biased. Perhaps if, generally speaking, there was more openness instead of xenophobia, more acceptance and less hate, then the youth of today would be more comfortable with spiritual thoughts and leanings.

Each person understands the concept of life differently. This is due to life's experiences. successes and mistakes. Such wisdom can never be learnt from any book or source but oneself. Hence...
What a youth is today, is reflected in how he/she was raised by the parents. A Spiritual parent will raise a child more focused towards spirituality ( but not necessarilly ignoring practicality to the needs of life), while a Capitalist parent will raise a child more into ways of Practicality ( but not necessarilly ignoring the ways of noble morality towards others ) all from the parent's life's experience.... also... coupled with Media and Education, the youth is thus moulded into a montage of balance/imbalance.
Any extremes of either end would reflect a over zealous or possibly fanatical parents.... Balance is important for life.... Too much of a Good thing can turn ugly...

to respond to your question, no this is no longer convincing. i'm a Christian and that i think in heaver, yet this could persuade no person. at the beginning, this is in basic terms a guideline for why something occurs. i've got died in a dream earlier and that i felt no longer something, so i individually don't have faith this advice. Why human beings many times awaken earlier they die in a dream continues to be a secret to me. Secondly, this may well be a undertaking the place this may well be thrilling to somebody who already believes in heaven, yet you have in basic terms taken observations and formed a hypothesis to slot into your observations and any non Christian is going to ascertain that. additionally, while attempting to tutor God exists I advise which you a minimum of use the Bible. it is not you or me it is going to transform somebody, all we can do is tell the guy and the genuine artwork of conversion is going to the Holy Spirit. 'Blessed are people who have not seen and yet have believed' (John 20:29). thrilling commentary, even though it is going to persuade no person.

Recently, I asked a question; Is it too much to ask, that everyone be above average? I'll ask it again, but diferently; Is it too much to ask, that we all be older, and wiser? The youth of today, and the youth of yesterday are both younger, and less wise. That's why they call them youth. And yes, kids like toys.
