Yes. Men account for about 1% of breast cancer cases. Between four and five hundred men die every year in the US. Men have a higher mortality rate, probably because most men don't know they could even have breast cancer.

Unfortunately the answer is yes. It is much less common than in women and there are many factors.
Men with a lot of breast or ovarian cancer in the females in their family should consider genetic counseling and testing, as having a hereditary mutation in the genes called BRCA1 or BRCA2 can increase the risk. The increased risk from BRCA1 may be small and is more common in those of Jewish ancestry, but BRCA2 mutations especially increase this risk (it's about 7 percent lifetime risk, which is about 100 times the risk for the general population).
Large male breasts are not definitely known to be linked to breast cancer, but some people believe that they are.

Yes, and they have a survival rate of only about 6 years when woman may live 20 years or more.
Why? Because men do not go to the Dr. as soon as a woman would when she feels a lump, so men's breast cancer is usually farther spread before found.

hello, I run a registered charity in the UK for a rare form of breast cancer and yes, men too can have breast cancer - even the rare kind! Men have breast tissue too - and I have just seen a message that said it attacks the glands... not always - it can start in the lobes, ducts and nipple too. Mine started on the chest wall. I hope that if you are asking because you are worried about changes in your own breasts you go see your GP as soon as you can and get it checked out. Remember 80% of breast complaints are benign (harmless) but that leaves 20% that aren't. Please get yourself checked out.

They do, and especially very fat guys above the age of 40, they develop mainly ductal cancer and they constitute 1,8% of the total of breast cancers in the U.S ofA...we dont have reliable statistics in other countries....
They take longer to be detected, because men usually do not perform mamographies unless indicated by an astute clinician.,...Yes, men do get it.....detected at a later stage than women.,.(sadly)
