From Australia, what is Timor-Leste? Do you mean East Timor? Look up Australia's World War 2 history, specifically the Pacific theatre, and Aussie soldiers hiding from the squints with East Timorese help. We owed them, so we helped them.

Because you help out our neighbours thats what you do when you are in the position to do so that's why Australia gave more in foreign aid to Indonesia than any other country after tsunami they are our neighbours.
