America is a long , long , long way from being a mostly Christian country . I'd be willing to bet only about 1% of Americans have ever read the Bible from beginning to end . Even many ministers have admitted to me that they never have . It's politically fashionable to claim to be a Christian . It's about getting money and appearing pious . But there is nothing Christian about politics . This is spoken about in the Bible , how better to fool the people than to use the church to hide behind . You shouldn't blame Christians for what some people do in the name of religion . Nor should you condem a whole country for the political stances of some of it's citizens .There are a lot more of us out here , not just the ones you hear about on the news .

Because, although most Americans are christian, United States of America is not a christian country.
If USA is a christian country, then Holy Bible will be it's constitution.
I doubt if that kind of government, the 'Thou shalt not kill' kind, if exists, can survive in this world.

Don't mix politic and religion, they do not comply with each other.
Even a religiously founded country, such as Iran, go the long way researching nuclear weapon to wipe-off another religiously based country from map (Israel).

To those of you who live in the US, you have either led a sheltered life and have not seen much, or you are speaking without thinking. I say this because in the US, everyone who kills is not always Christian. And throughout the world, there are people, who are not Christians, killing one another for what every reason. I am a non-combative soldier. My military job is communications. This is my 2nd time to Iraq. I have never shot or killed anyone and I do plan on killing anyone. I have no need to do so. When the Iraqis kill the US and or coalition soldiers or the US and or coalition soldiers kill Iraqi fighter, that's part of a war that most people do not want. But when Iraqis and or non-Iraqis from other Muslims countries kill other Iraqis people; innocent old, young, women, children, in the name of what ever???? I have been 3 and 6 miles away, on post when off post, Muslim fighter blew themselves up to kill important Iraqis. And guess what? Sometimes their intended target survives, but innocent men, women, and children die! And you want to only focus on one religion when there has always been good and bad in all religions? And no! Muslims aren't the worse! It is people within religions or any other organization who kill. To you and the others writing to you! You are all only looking at one side of the coin. That is like when some say that all blacks are thieves, or all white men 18 to 31 are mass murderers and rapist, or that all Asians know some style of fighting. You and those writing to you are labeling Christians.
I hope that you can understand what I am writing about.
Take care,

First of all we dont murder babies. Thats just plain ignorance.
Heck, most of the forgien threats kill themselves, and their children with them.

I watched a 1st grade video from the middle east of children in class in fatigues and toy AK47's chanting Jihad and running small drills. This is disturbing. This is the murder of babies.

And If you can figure a way to solve the world's issues without violence then you should be the leader of the free world.

Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek, however sometimes we have raise a sword. Its a part of raw real life. Younger people don't have the wisdom to see that, which is unfortunate.

It's a strange nation... according to the American christians who shout the loudest, the only life which is 100% sacred is that of the unborn foetus, by definition not a fully matured and self-aware human life.

Which begs a lot of questions... the foetus who might have been aborted at ten weeks could grow up to be:

i) An American soldier killled pointlessly in a messy little squabble in Baghdad and whose death is condoned on the grounds of "he died for his country". He might first have killed "enemies of his country" but that's OK because these are people who dared oppose the almighty USA.

ii) Somebody who in his turn kills somebody else, and after an agonising few years on Death Row is then subjected to hanging, shooting, lethal injection or the electric chair (I beleive all four are used in various states?). This death is condoned on the grounds of "He killed and must die in his turn, both to punish him, and to deter others"

ii) Somebody shot in a gun accident at home because of insecurely stored firearms, or because the gun has got a bullet in the breech, and the owner is too sloppy to keep the weapon and the ammo rigorously seperate. (a common cause of firearms injury in the USA). Tragic, but hey, our sacred right is to bear arms and it cannot be tampered with, this outweighs ANY number of random accidental casualties.

iv) A doctor or nurse performing abortions who is killed by a religious nutjob. This is God's judgement on the ungodly and the evil, naturally.

I'm sure readers can think of more...

I get your point, but lets be fair on the subject, If Thou shalt not kill is from the 10 commandments, handed to Moses in the old testament , then they must apply to all religions that are based on that book? There are far more religions based on the old original bible besides Christianity, Islam, Jewish etc!
True the prophets after Moses rewrote a few things o suit their own purposes.
But lets be fair all religion is complete BS, not only the Christian bit!!

i think of maximum individuals have assumptions with regard to the war, yet don't have get admission to to each and all of the help this is needed to realize it, and why they are combating. in actuality, there has no longer been a terrorist attack on individuals in the northern area of Iraq, and no individuals have been killed there. this is in the Kurdish area, and what we would desire to continuously do is help THEM, and permit then artwork their way south and preserve the two the Sunni, and Shiite, terrorists. you do no longer hear with regard to the stable we've finished, and how the everybody is so grateful we are there, and have saved them from being wiped out. WHY? because of the fact the main media purely concentrates on the region in Baghdad and is actual liberal. i could strongly advise you get a replica of the e book, "the excellent pass previous Iraq", by using Mike Evans. he's an award-prevailing journalist, and superb-advertising author who has served as a confidant to leaders in the middle East for greater advantageous than two decades. He has actual spoken to the leaders of the places in northern Iraq, and he describes how and why the war began, and what we would desire to continuously do. Iran is quickly responsible for numerous the terrorism in Iraq, and if all people thinks that the terrorism will supply up if we pass away, they are regrettably incorrect. If the troops got here homestead, the terrorists could then come to united statesa., and that i do no longer think of the yank public is waiting for the motor vehicle-bombings and suicide assaults that would desire to effect. THEN human beings could wish that the war grow to be nevertheless in Iraq, the place a minimum of out troops have weapons and armor to guard themselves. As for abortion and capital punishment, there's a large distinction between killing a convicted killer, and murdering an harmless, unborn individual. end of tale! And killing isn't condemned in the Bible, this is homicide of the harmless this is evil. Killing is each and every from time to time needed, in circumstances of war, and self-protection, and executing the responsible. And there'll be a war with Iran very quickly in the event that they do no longer supply up making a nuclear weapon. Then the war in Iraq is in basic terms no longer a topic matter anymore!

You are so right. It's as if they (we) have too much freedom operating with little morals, so lots of killing goes on by Americans directed at Americans daily. They even leave their own country and go thousands of miles away to make war and treachory in other nations. Where do you go for peace anymore?

The other thing is, these Muslims coming into our country like they own it planning totale murderous plots against innocent people. They are pretty much murdering machines also.

Most all are men, as usual who are doing all the killing and plotting and scheming to kill or engage in chaotic warfare worldwide. Men worldwide don't know how to properly conduct themselves and they are the source of countless murders and wars. I don't have much faith in most any man anymore.

America is only culturally Christian. Not very many of the people here are actually practicing Christians, and of those, even a smaller fraction try to follow Christ. Most of the people here worship money or fame, or some other temporal idol.
Your observation is tragically astute.

Gee, the USA, which is, as you say, a mostly Christian country, or claims to be, is probably the most violent of the developed countries. Compare it with Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, which, in the main, are at home being secular societies with very little violent crime. What's amiss?
