you have a couple of different options here depending on the amount of daily maintenence you want to do. If you don't mind flat ironing every day then that is the option I would suggest. It's less damaging and less permanent. Your other option would be to have it chemically straightened. This will give you a longer effect but will definately be more damaging. I think the best thing you could do is to buy a great flat iron(CHI is a great professional brand) and to get some great product to go with it. Redken has a product called "rough paste" that works great for me when styling my spikey clients. Also try "Sexy Hair". Their short line is great as well. One product in particular is short sexy hair "quick change" is great for spiking. Look at your local salons for the products listed and any other questions you may have. Good luck. I hope you have better hair days to come.

You should be able to spike your hair if its under a foot long. For hard to spike hair my punk friends swear by Elmer's glue, you know the white school glue! Just take a small amount, and pull your hair up with it, spreading an even coat on a small chunk of hair (no more than 1 inch by 1 inch of scalp area's worth) and let it dry, you can use a hair dryer to help it dry faster, just hold up the spike while the hair dryer is blowing on it. When you want the spikes out, just wash throughly with hot water, then shampoo the hair to get any remnants of glue out.

I actually have no idea but.. I have gotten my hair spiked (like a gurl should) and it looks great. It only cost 17 dollars to get it cut properly. Then I got the straightening iron and gel out. I straightened my hair and then i spiked it with gel and the hair dryer. Also for extra tips for GURLS: If u want a punky look.. Blonde inside Black is IN! You can dye ur hair black (permanently works best with this) and then get blonde streaks in it! Looks great! All the gurls at my school do it and I always get commented on it!

Hope I helped.. And good luck.

Lots of love,
Rikku

You can't spike your hair unless it's straight. If you spike it while it's curly/wavy, the effect looks bad. Go to the hair salon to get it chemically straightened or rebonded. After this treatment, you may want to tell the hair dresser to cut it in a style that allows you to spike it.

definite, you could spike it, you in basic terms might desire to get the properly suited products. My boyfriend has hair such as you, it sounds. He makes use of spike this is in a blue bottle and is like glue, does not flake. that's a large situation with maximum stable hair products. you could pass to a salon and get a pattern for loose or a small tube for some money, possibly $3? to purchase an entire bottle of those issues i think of it grow to be around 12 greenbacks. make certain you place it on your hair while this is moist. don't get your hair straightened this is a waste of money. stable luck!

Well you can go to a salon and have them chemically straiten your hair but its harsh on your hair and spiking it will only make it damage worse. My opinion ask a girl friend to show you how to use a straitening iron and then spike it or use my old standby. Elmers glue, yep thats right plain old Elmers white school glue. while your hair is slightly damp take the Elmers and use it to spike sections of your hair. Works 99.8% of the time

Permanent straightening is the key to spiky styles. You have to have the correct hair cut, as well. Using a pressing iron is a daily chore, and a lot of work. I don't recommend it.Good luck.

Not sure how guys straighten their hair but some do. If you can get it straightened, then you can spike it and all that.

Maybe you can get hair gel (extra hold) and flatten your hair than you can spike your hair. Good luck!
