May the Peace, Mercy and Blessings of God shower you.
My new Sister in Islam,
This is very strange. I have been Muslim for almost ten years and I personally know hundreds of others who have converted to Islam. The only time in which you may need a document is if you will go to Hajj or Umra and that is for saudi verification. As far as your new Imam I don't know what background he has. I am from orthodox (sunni) Islam which is a 82% of the Muslims (over a billion & majority in 50 countries) and we are taught that you simply say "I bear witness that there is no diety other than The One Almighty God (Allah in Arabic) and I bear witness that Muhammad is His final Messenger" if you were previously christian it is also preferred, (but not obligatory) that you testify "I bear witness that Jesus is the Servant and Messenger of God and that he was a result of a word "BE" which God directed to Mary and a spirit created by God."
If you testify to this faith and start praying five times a day (first in your own language). Then the Imam should personally make any document you need to confirm this and not send you to the internet. I am diappointed in the guidance and help that this Imam/ community is giving you. May God Guide us all and may he preserve you and strengthen you from all of the lies and falsely presenting of texts out of their context.
Here is a great link to grow in sound knowledge in your journey toward meeting Allah.

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarokatuh,
Dear Becky you are welcome as a new comer of muslim woman or muslimah. You are called also as mualaf. You have just converted your religion to Islam as the right and latest religion from God.If you converted in March 2007 so you have taken an oath that you say ashadu allah ilahailallah wa asyhadu anna muhammadar rosululullah that means you swore or witnessed that there is no God except Allah and you
acknowledged that Muhammad pbuh as Allah's messenger.
This oath should be stated orally in front of an imam in the mosque witnessed by some muslim people..If it has been occured so you must ask to the related imam a certificateas an evidence that gives a statement that you have converted your religion to Islam. You do not need fill in a certain form in the website. It is no need to be published.Allah know well your condition and you will be come sinless like a new born baby..You start your new life like a white paper which should be filled in with good doings in line with islamic teaching which use holy Qur'an and Hadith as our life guide. If you obey it you will have a happy and safety life here in this world and in the life after death in heaven..Good luck and may God always bless you,
Wassallamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barokatuh
Regards from your brother Ruchjat Kosasih Jakarta,Indonesia.

Hijab is a religious obligation for Muslim women. It is a religious ordinance that is supported by both the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Thus, Hijab is a duty that Allah Almighty prescribes for the Muslim woman, and she has to carry out that duty in compliance with the Command of Allah by showing her sincere faith in Allah through wearing the Hijab. Having said this, we can say that the Muslim woman is permitted to wear whatever dress she wants as long as the dress she wears fulfills certain conditions. Here are the necessary conditions for the dress of the Muslim woman to be rendered Islamically acceptable: 1. The dress should cover her whole body with the exception of her face and hands. 2. The dress should be loose-fitting. 3. The dress should not be transparent or revealing. 4. The dress should not be an attire specifically worn by men only. Thus, feel free to wear whatever dress you want but make sure that you stick to the above conditions.

Congratulations Becky. Ignore the nitwits posting negative rubbish. They've got no idea and probably never will.
There should be a Ministry of Religious Guidance in Muslim countries - simply go there to obtain a certificate documenting your conversion. If you are not in a Muslim country, talk to the imam at your masjid and he will help you make arrangements with documentation.

Assalamualaikum sister,
You can go to your local mosque and ask them for a certificate or a signed letter rather than go online because it may be a bit less credible that way. One of my Christian friends did what I said after taking his Shahadat
By the way welcome to Islam dear sister.
Dont listen to heretics who will try to make you leave Islam at this time. Stick to your faith and you will find answers, online and offline, that will confirm your faith

One becomes a Mulim only after he or she is convinced in their heart. Make sure what Imam says exactly:

there is no document to proof your Islam
Just believe in these things ....there is one and perfect god he is the God "Allah..and believe in his angels, prophets (includes Jesus and Muhammad as human and prophets),books (includes Koran and "genuine" bible),last day, paradise and hell
and do these things ...pray five times a day, fast Ramadan, say (there is no god but Allah,Muhammad his prophet) give poor men the charity, and if you can you will make pilgrimage in Mecca
and welcome to be Muslim"ah"... and Allah bless you
if you have any question..I'll be glad to help you
