How can people on here relate Iraq to the battles of WW2 ?
get your heads sorted out !!!
We where lied to about the reasons to go to war with Iraq.
Most people that i know new about the complications of sorting Iraq after the invasion. thers now over 42 groups of insurgents fighting it out. mainly for power, oil and territory . that's not including Al Quaida or the Iranian contribution.
Bush Sr new this that's why in the 1990's he stopped at the gates of Bagdad
to many have died. nearly 3500 US. all uneccesary
trade your cars for something economical better still get a dual fuel or electric car. reduce the need of being dependent on oil from the Middle East
What would the Middle East be with outselling oil. wouldn't that be worth changing for ?
now don't get me wrong I am no tree huggin lefty libral. Bush and Blair ignored the facts of Iraq.
And now they can't leave Iraq until the situation has been resolved. they are not even halfway there yet so expect the total US deaths to be nearer 10,000 before the insergents have been subdued.
I will leave it there ... got work to do

you take the official number and multiply that by 4 to get a number somewhat closer to the truth. as the pentagon is fighting a war on journalists in irak, the American propaganda machine is in full swing making sure the war dead number is palatable for the sheeple.
Bush attitude is one of indifference, he don't care its not his family their, as long as bush pleases his masters, he is ok with sending fellow countrymen to their deaths.
If we are to believe the " official " body count, this would be the first war in American history, or any countries history, where the true war dead is given to the public, while the war is still being fought. ( think revised vietnam war dead numbers for one ) we all know the lies about yellow cakes, smoking guns, wmd.

far less than those that died liberating Europe TWICE
far less than than the civil war
far less than than those that died in the pacific WWII
What is your point???
The military exists to preserve the nation and yes those that serve often pay with their life so You and I can live in a land of opportunity and freedom from oppression..
Other nation's leaders use/abuse and kill their population for whatever reason they chose... these nations view their population as simply a tool to achieve their desires...
..As for attitude.... if death bothers you why do you assume that bush would have a different reaction to death?
He after all was empowered to protect the nation so that you could sleep comfortably at night and not be faced with death & destruction outside your door.

I think it us unfair to ask about American troops when there are others who went to war with Bush!
3,773 KIAS
3,497 Americans
20 KIA's already this month!
He cut VA hospitals and gave tax cuts to the rich.
He tried to cut their combat pay
He cut widow benefits in half
and he presided over the dumbing down of Walter Reed, one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world!
I don't think Bush cares. They are a means to an end!
Neo, I wish you could be in a war so you could "deal with it"! You can ride around in one of those unarmored Humvees in the streets of Baghdad!

Just under 3500 U.S. and 3773 total coalition deaths.
Since cantcu has his facts wrong I'll assist him.
He icreased funding for VA hospitals and gave tax cuts to all Americans.
He increased their combat pay.
He increased widow benefits.
and he was in office when news than one of Walter Reeds outpatient buildings had major maintenence issues(the hospital is due to close to BRAC in 1995 because of the previous administration), Walter Reed is still one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world!
