This too shall pass. This has been my mantra during hard times. I also compare bad times to being in labor and delivering a baby. Labor is hard, long and painful. But, you know at the end of the suffering you will have a beautiful new baby and so the suffering is worth it. Life is the same way with all its problems. And, whatever we go through in life in the end we can always glean something good out of it. Something very good, life changing and life affirming. You have every reason to live. You just can't see it right now. Hang in there and don't give up. You're a wonderful beautiful spirit having a physical experience here. The bad physical experience is just temporary and it shall pass. Your answers are on the way. Don't let go. You are a wonderful person and you are loved.

Romans 8:28 read the book of James it talks about your trials and says that we should count it all joy. Our trials are not to hurt us but to strengthen us. James explains this very good. Psalms 91 is great to read and is uplifting. I want you to know that storms are for building up your faith in Christ Jesus and he is probably wanting you to build more faiht in him to trust him. I dont know how religious you are but usually right before a blessing is a storm. If satan could get you to stop trusting in God it will rob you of your blessings. Maybe you are waiting on something from Jesus, but if Satan could get it in your mind like "Your not going to get it " or You are nothing" then you get off focused with the promises God already has given you, he said he will give you your hearts desires he also said no weapon formed against you shall prosper, he said your enemies will not shame, you can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you, and he said his word will not come back to him void so what ever he promised is coming your way just hang in there

It is OK to ask mortal men for help if they can give you verses from the bible that can uplift you if you don't know them yourself that is why we are here to help others
Isaiah 54-14
In righteousness you shall be established you shall be
far from oppression for you shall not fear
and from terror for it shall not come near you.
Isaiah 43:1-2 But now says the Lord who created you O Jacob and He who formed you O Israel fear not for I have redeemed you
i have called you by your name. You are mine.
When you pass through the waters I will be with, and through the rivers they shall not overflow you. When you walk
through the fire you shall not be burned, nor shall the flames scorch you.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength
a very present help in trouble.
Prov. 1:33 But whoever listens to Me will dwell safely and will be secure without fear of evil.
prov. 3:24 When you lie down you will not be afraid
yes you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
Isaiah 14:3 it shall come to pass in the day the Lord
gives you rest from your sorrow and from your
fear, and the hard bondage in which you were made to serve.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you,My peace I give to you
not as the world gives do I give to you
let not your heart be troubled, neither let i be afraid.
I pray that you will find peace and comfort in this trying time and remember you are not alone cast your cares on Him.
You do have something to live for you never know. Ask for strength to carry on and when you get over this problem use it as a testimony to help others.

Kitty, I don't realy kow the bible well enough to give out verses, but I think Palms is always good to read during hard times.
You are a very beautiful girl judging from your picture. I'm sure you have much to live for. What you have to remember is whatever you are going thru is a temporary problem. Suicide is a permanant answer to a temporary problem.
This will pass. Isn't there a verse that states "I can do all things thru Jesus who give me strength?" If you need to talk email me at cheeto_04@yahoo.com

Hi Kitty,
It appears that you have had many responses. Hopefully most have been helpful to you. If you are suffering severe depression sometimes there is a physical cause such as a chemical imbalance. If your depression is this severe, as it sounds it is, I would recommend you see good council from trusted friends and consider seeing your doctor to rule out any physiological source.
If you have a church background (as you mentioned the bible) you may wish to seek out a pastor or minister for additional help and councilling. it is important that you do not isolate yourself and do talk about the issues that are causing what may seem to be a hopeless situation. Remember that there is always hope and the situation (no matter hope bleak and impossible) may change.
Praying to God is another avenue you can try. God does hear our prayers, when it is humble and sincere. Try telling God what your issues are.
I am a Christian who believes the Bible is true and that God uses it (and people) to bridge the communication gap between Him and us. I also know that the bible teaches that to really repair our lives it has to be through God.
I'll copy a part of John chapter 3 here (part of which I am sure you have heard many times before 3:16, I think it's quoted in one of the other answers) and let you make your own assessment. I would encourage you to read the whole book and pray and ask God to help you understand what He is saying.
Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him."
3 Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born again. [a]"
4 "How can anyone be born when they are old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother's womb to be born!"
5 Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit [b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You [c] must be born again.' 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." [d]
9 "How can this be?" Nicodemus asked.
10 "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. [e] 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, [f] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him." [g]
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. .....
God Bless - Jim

Romans 8:18 is one of my favorites. Also Matt 11:1-6 it's encouraging to know even John the Baptist had his human doubts, and Christ answered him. Even when things go wrong the Lord knows and understands our pleas. Rom.8:28 is another. Third Day has a song "Praise You in This Storm" and also "Cry Out to Jesus" both very encouraging and up lifting.

hey kiddo, how about just some uplifting words?? it might help me to know what it is your goin through...
i can tell you that i have read the entire bible except for the "begats" (very tedious)...and i find it mostly a good refrence guide for moral purposes.
i have looked into various religions and have come to the conclusion that yes there are supreme beings, powers that oversee. and i feel that any religion or faith that brings you closer to this power is the right one for you.
anyway, there is always a reason for living sugar, even if the only reason is to enjoy the feel of the wind on your skin, just that moment, that one moment you can claim as your own.
i dont know your circumstances, but personally, i lived for many years moment by moment, it's the little things that got me through, hearing a child laugh, the smell of the rains.
one thing i can tell you from "the bible"....... "this too shall pass"
good luck honey.
i'm a newbi on the computer an i feel i may have found my way here by mistake. but if you want, my e-mail is

stop asking mortal men for help open the bible and look for yourself help yourself- GOD will never abandon you so why would you abandon him by not believing that he has your exit in times of need? open the bible help your self. h will only help you if you put an effort. your not the only person who goes thru hardships. we all do. you need to depend on GOD and yourself not on the help of men who are as weak as you are.
1 Corinthians 10:13
“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

although I'm an agnostic, there is some wisdom to be found in the bible.
One verse that speaks this way relates a saying that Jesus said: :
"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today."
Matt 6:34
which I take to mean that if you are worried about what will happen in the future (tomorrow) then you are bringing suffering upon yourself needlessly.
Of greater importance is "today" ... live in the "now" ... since "now" is the only time you can have effect on.
Take care of yourself today before you expend energy worrying about tomorrow.
for *today* do what is right. That is the beginning of comfort.
If you do your best, that's all that any of us can do. If anyone wants more than that, they are not being reasonable. Don't accept that kind of unreasonable demand.
If I have not spoken what you need, I apologize.
you can email me if you need
peace
for uplifting verses, I would recommend 23rd Psalms, the one that starts out:
the Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in rgeen pastures
he leadeth me beside the still wates
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness for His name' sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the
presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
(I know I'm agnostic, but these are some of the most comforting words alive ..... hang in there)

You seem to be at the point where I began to seek the knowledge of the Lord. I read job, who was a decent man, and learned that he did not understand why he was being tormented, and even felt that death would be sweeter than his life (at that point), but threw his entire trust in the goodness and justness of God. From this he would not budge.
I was in prison, worn down to nothing after many many years, contemplating suicide. Reading the scripture showed me that if God really moved tohave me out of there, i would be out. He knew I wanted out, but that I wasn't ready for it: getting me cleaned up as a man was the process I had to go through in order to receive this great freedom I now enjoy.
It was very dark where I dwelt, yet from time to time there was a great light came into my solitary room. A christian I know used to pray for me, according to the prayer of moses:
"Numbers 6:26:
26The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
and I came to know grace and peace, for He is GOD, an not hard to please.
